It feels like a dream come true to make a Video Guide about Hwang after 15years! I hope you will enjoy this new format! Please tell me what you think and if you like it share to your friends! There is one error in the combo part, at 11:21 the combo dmg and lifeforce cost are wrong, this was for an other combo (with 66A+B inbetween before the ender), I changed this because it seems it wasn't guaranteed sometimes on some angle and launch, but I needed time to investigate this so I put a lesser expensive lifeforce combo but I forgot to change the value. The new value are -4 Life Force (instead of -5) and 79dmg (instead of 88).

Fantastic guide and great format! This 14-minutes video is an encyclopedia to be read/watched for months to master Hwang. Very informative. I liked him in SC but he's got new life in SC VI with talismans and auras. Thanks for using both numbers and arrows for directions in combos. Having arrows on the screen as in training mode and hearing numbers for directions works way better than the way it is usually done in other guides.

I noticed really easy starter bnb combo that does about 66dmg and cost no talisman + is really easy is 3b,6bb, small pause, 6bbbb. Probably worth using if your just using the char for the first times like I.

Great guide. I didn't get much time with Hwang so hopefully I'll be able to catch up. I always appreciate when people put players/characters into types. Aggressive/preventative/passive in an interesting triangle that aligns well with my experience of SCVI, and explains some of the issues I have sometimes. Hope Hwang is as good as you hoped. :)

Definitly super great character that aligns well with his epic and heroic personality. I just hope we get back his sc3 AE 44B one day to have a less expensive back evasion, but ir's otherwise super good

This is actually the true reasons why this guide did had some delay 😆 I couldn't help going into Creation Mode and making all this awesome outfits. In addition of making his originals previous outfits. I think Hwang playstyle (with some ninja moves for Zeku, Galford, Hayate, Hayabusa) and hairstyle (Ryo Hazuki, Gohan, Ryu, Gan Ning etc...) also aligns well with a lot of other characters to do. There is still a lot that I will probably do in the future.

Leave it to the truest fan of Hwang Seong-Gyeong to figure out and make a guide for this character! ^_^ But, to be quite honest, there should be an extended, version 2 of this guide. I believe that there's a lot more unexplored space that can only be explored after months of playing with Hwang. Maybe a few more combos, punishes, wall hit strikes, situational moves, and such? Yes.... Perhaps a version 2 of this guide will solve some lingering questions for certain players - released preferrably after 3 more months or so..... This is only a mere suggestion on my part, but what do you think, Hayate-san? Thanks for the guide! m(_ _)m

I'm curious how you think Hwang can be aggresive? His close range pokes are 0 on hit and he can't effectively frame trap. He has set play mix-ups, but most of his play style is centered around heavy mid rang neutral. 66A is not an aggressive tool. It is a neutral tool to control space that has very punishable follow-ups. Mixing it with 66B doesn't make it more viable, it just puts Hwang in a negative situation on block. Neither option can open up a standing opponent nor convince them stop blocking.

Aggressive play is pushing forward or mixups and Guard Damage. I think Hwang has good Guard Damage but he struggles a bit to make it break and take maximum reward from it. Also his mixups mostly rely on his throws and safe mids like 22A+B or 4K. This is a bit risky against crouching opponent. His low attack game isn't bad but they are all small damage pokes which are dangerous against an opponent who takes risk against them, like jumping. But I think 1B is pretty effective too counterplay blocking because it's super safe on block (only -12), and can score a counter hit starter combo. 1K, and 1[K] (mix with 1K6) can also be used as low opener that prevents sidestepping. I think he would be much better if 4AA was doing a bit more on neutral hit.
