How to play 'I'm Broken' by Pantera Guitar Solo Lesson w/tabs

Hi guys! Welcome to lesson 123 of Learn That Solo! Today we look at how to play the solo from 'I'm Broken' by Pantera.
Good ol' Dime! This solo is from the C# (and a 1/4 sharp) standard era. Once you're in tune, you're ready to make some serious testosterock. The second section and the final shred are the only ones I'd concern myself with as the rest are pretty manageable.
Section 2 tips:
Ideally for the pentatonic run in Section 2 you'd want to work on pulloffs and string changing as well as using the pinky to get those epic Dimebag stretches he loves so much. Your picking hand doesn't play too much of a role in this run.
Section 4 tips:
As for the final shred just hone in on alternate picking with a basic semi-quaver feel. The positions are basically chromatic with a slight gap here and there. The run itself sounds like a pentatonic with accidentals/'blue' notes but you could just as easily work on the speed and technique doing basic 4 finger chromatic exercisers and warm ups.

a quarter step up is easy to get by doing this. Standard tuning is A 440hz. a quarter step up would be A 452.89. So just grab your tuner and change the A reference and then tuner your guitar from low to high C# F# B E G# C# and then you can play along perfectly with this song.

not trying to bust balls, but the tabs at 6:51 says to hammer on to 13 from 12 on the 2nd string, and you actually pull off from 13 to 12. it just confused me a little from what you said to do then what i read.

Probably around a 4.5, not too difficult once you get your head around the picking pattern on in the middle section. Once you get your right hand to settle into the ascending 'groove' you've pretty much got it.

The flashy part in section 2. I have been playing for 17 years and i never learned that picking pattern...I always wind up ringing the lowermost string on licks like that. and it should be in every guitar player's arsenal....kan you elaborate on how that picking is done correctly?

In the beginning of section 2, why would you pick the 17th fret of the 2nd string when it's the same as the 12th fret on the 1st string? It's much easier like that.

its in halfway between D and C#. Set your tuner A4 frequency to 427.5 and tune to D and you have the record tunning!

it means that you tune the guitar to C# Standard (C#, F#, B, E, G#, C# low to high). then make to needle on your tuner half way between the note of the string and the next note up e.g. C# & D (this should be angled to the right on the tuner's screen)
