I felt like the fishing rod section was missing incredibly important information. Sure, the fishing rod is good, but it can be shielded, which majorly reduces its usefulness in many situations and technically makes the move not a grab. It can also be used as a recovery, which would’ve also been good information to include.

I'd like to see an updated version once ultimate gets its final patch, since they pretty much just buffed her and made her tools more reliable. Examples include: Fishing Rod's tether actually reaching the ledge, Lloid Rocket not being something to just run over, Jab having more hitstun and less knockback (Wobelle), lots of combo moves having less lag, and some kill moves being made stronger

This guide is great. Comprehensive, in-depth, and I think that most of what you're saying is true as an Isabelle player. However I think you might want to make a part 2 that addresses some of her flaws and disadvantage state. You mention at the beginning that Isabelle gets exploited a lot, but you didn't exactly specify any examples or talk about that in the video at all. If you followed through with making a continuation addressing her problems, players who want to pick up Isabelle will be able to learn what issues she has and find ways to work around them.

Actually, it's fairly simple to gimp her if you pop her two balloons she will literally die her recovery just like villager, also has a mechanic if they keep getting edgeguarded for too long the recovery will keep getting weaker and weaker to the point where they can't recover high enough anymore.

Tips from a fellow Isabelle player! 1.) When you plant a rocket and throw a fishing rod over it to grab an opponent, sometimes they will trip the rocket. Which you can follow up by throwing them in. 2.) When the rocket explodes on an enemy, there is a small window to up-air them before they get blasted away. Easy 30%.

I personally like fishing rod into lloyd. You camp the lloyd and as soon as the enemy triggers it, you can dodge roll back into fishing rod, which then throws the character back into the lloyd explosion. It's super difficult and doesn't do much damage, but it's clutch af!

The Rod is a bit of a tether grab substitute that doesn’t let you grab attack them and leads straight into throw.

Strangely, Isabelle is my best character but not my main so uhh... What notes I would give is uhh... -Neutral air to up tilt is definitely a good spammable low level combo starter. -Uhh, down special is something I use to get stage control. I would bait someone to jump in order to dodge a fishing rod, but I detonate the down B and it kills them. -135% at all characters, if at the top platform of battlefield, fishing rod up would kill 100%. -I confirmed that neutral B has some invincibility, and I confirmed that I use it as a spotdodge like the smash 4 air dodge. -Her out of shield options are lowkey garbage, I could only list down: Grab, Down Tilt, Jab, Up Tilt, Forward Smash, Down Smash. -Side B, the fishing rod I use it a lot for recovery, so uhh, if you could reach the ledge then use it. -Fishing rod has better knockback if the line of the fishing rod is longer. -Fishing rod forward air is my most consistent kill option. Or just you know, Forward Air. -Balloons are garbage, not overpowered like the guide says. The distance is good tho, so if your opponent sucks, then you're good. -Don't roll in from ledge, you don't have many options for it, maybe it's just my inexperience. -Dash attack is a funny gimp option on ledge, which I follow up with a run off down air. -Isabelle's Jab, has an infinite on a ledge of a stage or platform. I suggest looking up a guide for them. -Backthrow, it's uhh, you yeet an opponent if their high percent, it's prolly a kill throw. I need to know more, this info is not enough for me. Or maybe, it is and I just need to learn how to read better. Or maybe, pick up villager. I didn't know back air had more knockback and damage but the more you know I guess.

Great video, thanks a lot! One thing I felt was missing was edge guarding. The side smash pot drop is actually pretty good for edge guarding I've noticed, you have to time it well but at high percentage and just the right angle it even has spiking capabilities. Also, the rod can sometimes to ridiciolous edge guarding if the opponent hasn't got an idea how to recover as you can chain it a lot.
