Reminds me of one broken campaign where there was this player whose father was Fenris from Norse mythology or fenrir I don't know how to pronounce it and one time he made a joke on his God tossing a chair into the world so then that just became the running gag in the DM did not like me very much I was playing the son of Hades and I was role playing as he hates his father so the DM used every chance possible to try to kill my character he removed my character's backstory because he didn't like it even though he read it already and he made my character role for the size of his third leg and when he tried to get my character killed by a hallucination of his girlfriend who was the daughter of Zeus I decided I'd ask her the one question I knew I could still ask and I'm the only one who would know the answer to it she got so pissed when I was that clever and the other players were standing behind it and went that was a great idea and then he hypnotize me and try to get me to kill my party members then he got mad at me for coming up with a question he went your character wouldn't act that way and I responded how would you know he's not your character so I handed in my character sheet and told him here you're going to need this if you want to keep playing my character for me I haven't been able to play Dungeons & Dragons since I'm starting to miss it it's been at least two months damn I want to play

I been thinking about how to build this character and also went with Monk/paladin but for a different approach in mind. 14th level monks get diamond soul which gives them proficiency in all saving throws and a 6th level paladin get aura of protection which adds his charisma to all saving throws. If you create a 20 charisma paladin with that you get ridiclously high saving throws, enough to demonstrate the joestar luck that is shown through the series, Devotion paladins also get sacred weapon divinity to add charisma to your attack roles, so you dont miss your smites. It is less in character from this build but very much fun for gameplay.

Spy is really easy -Changeling -20 levels of Arcane Trickster Rogue -Make sure you get Disguise Self and Greater Invisibility, the other spells i'd reccommend are spells realted to putting up a distracting image (minor illusion, Hypnotic Pattern, etc) before you backstab (sneak attack) them. This a real thing some Spies do. I'd also get Vampiric Touch to mimic the Conniver's Kunai, Darkness to get away and to pair well with Shadow Blade for batter damage.

I actually homebrewed a sub class for monk called "way of the holy light" that essentially allows you to play a hamon user,you do radiant damage with your fists and smite with your fists aswell as use your ki to sense undead and fiends,it's basically a paladin monk I also made another sub class for monk called "way of the blood moon" for those who wanna play a vampire or a pillar man,of course without the weakness to sun light

for paladin fighting style, you could do mariner instead. but if you wanted to do dueling, jonathan is renowned for his gentleman's approach, so he wouldn't use brass knuckles, instead use a shortsword which could be Pluck & Luck, given to him by Bruford. this shortsword can still be used as a monk weapon and as such be used in tandem with hamon. you could also do kensei as your monk archetype, which would let you take a longsword as a monk weapon for pluck & luck. jonathan hits hard with his fists but he's also the most martial fighter of all the jojo's, picking up spears and all sorts of things to use to his advantage, kensei could help provide him that playstyle with tavern brawler & magic weapon

Glad to see the build doesn't rely on UA this time, just 2 things: 1. Having to reflavor a light hammer as brass knuckles is unnecessary because monks can use shortswords, and Jonathan gets a sword. 2. Why didn't you try Way of The Sun Soul for this build? Since that would give you your radiant damage it might make paladin levels unnecessary, could always cleric multiclass for extra radiant goodies aswell (light domain best for flavour but mechanically War Domain is very good since war priest is kinda like extra uses of your flurry of blows without using ki points) without going into the MAD range. Monster Slayer Ranger and Ranger in general could also be nice because of favored enemy undead, and wouldn't be too MAD. The only unfortunate thing about both of these multiclasses is their sources of bonus damage (Divine Strike, Hunter's Mark) apply only to weapon attacks (counting unarmed strikes) and radiant sun bolt counts as a spell attack, but otherwise I'd say they're not a bad idea.

I have designs in mind for Woody as a Envoy Warforged (with rope as the tool integrated to act as his pullstring/lasso, though it’s technically not classed as a tool) Battlemaster Fighter. He could have some rogue levels too. Buzz seems more like a juggernaut or skirmisher depending on the concept, and I can see him with ranger levels and monk levels, with his laser perhaps being a spell or spell like ability (such as the radiant sun bolts). Though if I was to choose, I think he’d make a better Open Hand Monk than Sun Soul Monk.

I know you only use official and UA, but in the campaign i'm playing i made Jonathan with (once we reach 20) 3 levels in Zealot Barbarian and 17 levels in Ghostslayer Blood Hunter We allowed Crimson Rite to work on fists and before that the DM already ruled radiant does double to undead, so i can do awesome damage with a punch but for a die to the main attack i have a longsword for Luck & Pluck Pretty good against most enemies, and a god against undead, i also flavored Grim Psychometry as The Passion (the stand he would've had)

I'm not too knowledgable in D&D so I figured going all in with monk and undead slaying wouldn't be the optimal/best option. I'd feel that in a undead focused setting, say about a certain vampire with time stopping abilities. It probably be much better then in a vacuum. Won't stop me for using it regardless though. Jonathon is my favorite Jojo xD (Next to Joseph) Anyhow. Keep up the Grade S/perfect/whatever highest grade you want to give yourself. You deserve it!

Past that *maaaaybe* a level or two in another caster for some of the weirder hamon stuff.

I think back in 3e they did the Summoner, whose main function was they could summon an Eidolon that they could customize.

If you’re wanting to work the angle of Elements (remember Jonathan channels his Harmon into natural elements all the time) Way of the Four Elements as your Monastic Tradition let’s you do just that. It’s admittedly not the best Monk Archetype but it’s still functional and very thematic

Episode 84 of the Fire Emblem stats: Jonathan Joestar, the first Jojo. Jonathan has three areas of expertise: brawling, swords, and both types of magic (hamon's a sort of gray area between fire magic and light magic). He has a budding talent in authority because he was originally alone then slowly built up a bunch of supporters over the decades after his passing. He doesn't really have a weakness in other weapon types. He's as strong and bulky as you'd imagine a guy built like a chimney would look, and he has no bad stats at all besides middling luck.

I'd say fighter/rogue with assassin subclass. The fancy dagger-throwing isn't his standard move, he prefers to surprise them at home and inject them with poison.

I think Constitution should have been higher since one of Johnathon's main traits is that he's basically an unstoppable force that will keep going and only gets stronger the more you try to beat him down.
