4:31 "This terrain feature is 4" high, therefore we spend 4" movement to climb it." Rules state "Operative must be within 1" horizontal and 3" vertical to climb." Wouldn't that mean that he cannot climb a 4" high terrain piece? Unless he's flying or something similar?

I believe the intention for the "within 3" vertically" is the wall your model is next to when it starts to climb. Not referring specifically to the vantage point. If you look at page 56 of the core rules, you'll see an exact example of what we show in the video.

I am bit confused about fight action example. Was Skitarii supposed to resolve its dice first since it was fighting? Or you can parry out of order? Maybe that was some special marine ability?

Thank you for catching that! I did say the skitarii was fighting the marine but showed the dice backwards. The fighting operative resolves their dice first. So this example shows the space marine fighting and the skitarii retaliating. However there are some special rules that can make the defending operative resolve a die before the attacker, and those abilities are found on their data cards. An example of this is the Kurnathi on Corsairs for instance. Hope this clears it up!

What if someone is concealed and in cover but the enemy flanks and has clear line of sight? Is he valid target?

Yes, he would then be a valid target so long as the drawn cover lines do not cross intervening terrain. Also, moving within 2" will negate intervening terrain from providing cover so they would also be a valid target then.

I have a question about CP, how much do you actually start with? Ive read that each player starts with 2CP, do you get an additional one during the first strategic phase for a total or 3, or is that already accounted for? Thanks in advance

You DO gain another CP at the start of the first strategy phase. Essentially, start the game with 3 CP.

Hi, starting out with a friend here, we cant find the scouting phase thing in the core book, (I have one) and videos online have been inconsistant. Is it a thing or not?

Weirdly, I can't find it in the core book either. However, if you have the approved ops cards, it's step 4 on the mission pack pamphlet. It is absolutely a thing in this edition as it was in the previous edition. This is how the first TP initiative is decided for competitive games.

i believe that for some reason the core book provides the 'base rules' that do not include the scouting phase. For the Universal Equipment and scouting phases it seems we have to obtain the additional rules add-on provided in the Approved Ops cards

Just bought hivestorm to get into killteam Core rule book says precisely ZERO about Selecting equipment (when and how) Scouting phase Why are GW like this bros?

GW works in mysterious ways. The Hivestorm Dossier book has information on universal equipment on page 70, but otherwise the phases for scouting and picking equipment can be found on the approved ops mission pack game sequence card.

There's a lot of people who consider the tidbit of "Killteam" in 2016 to be first edition. Since those rules were just an alternate way to play big Warhammer, we don't really count it. The 2018 ruleset was the first to be it's own game and have it's own releases. That would make 2021 2nd edition and 2024 3rd edition.
