Yes B7 exists but he stated it wrong and the picture also was wrong 😉. He said/showed 224422. Actually it’s 224242 or with the B note as the root it’s x24242. 😎🤘🏻

the B7 at 4:08 is wrong (tab) the position of his fingers is the right one (strings 1-1-2-1-2-1)
@JimAndMisc3 жыл бұрын
What he should have put is 2-2-4-2-4-2. This would be the correct way he meant and played his version of B7. I personally do x-2-4-2-4-2 with the B as the root note? 🤓 This is same as A7 just bar chorded up 2 frets.

The "B7" on the fret diagram is not the chord he is playing on the guitar. If you look closely he has his ring finger on the 4th string, skips a string, and then his pinky is on the 2nd string. That is a proper B7. The diagram is not accurate. Also, there are easier ways to play a B7. Look them up if you're having difficulty with this one.

"By the Fugees... ?" Surely they never claimed this was "by" them. Lori Lieberman wrote it - and there are plenty of recordings of her performing it - and it was made famous by Roberta Flack. Especially when we're talking about the guitar, it's important to acknowledge Lieberman - who is a fantastic guitarist. Interesting as well that in her original version in the early 70s the verses are much more prominent; here the stress is more on the refrain.
@40pianos4 жыл бұрын
Charles Fox wrote the music and Norman Gimbel, the lyrics. Lori Lieberman knew both men and I'm pretty certain the song was written for her but she is not the writer.

I love when people openly and honestly try to help others, teaching in any way, yet internally cringe in this day and age as there's so much information out there. Pausing to take the 5 minutes more, and give credit to the actual song, origin, and make note how long it's continued to survive, which bands respected enough to re-record and keep it going, etc...but crediting as Fufees song (a lot like Britney Spear's I Love Rock'n'Roll? Right, who was Gary Glitter and not Joan Jett. But if in your generation, it's that current band always! How about a"cover song was originally written and performed by Roberta Flack, and was written for, and to describe maybe exactly how Brendan here probably felt saying he heard this girl that just killed it singing in karaoke....was probably the EXACT same way Roberta felt, being a R&B artist, going to see at the time a little known folk singer, who himself had only an acoustic guitar, (like Brendan here) and blew her away on every note he sang and chord he played, and that was how the song was written, as there he was, this young boy, a stranger to my eyes was describing the performance of the now legendary Don McLean. Possibly why Roberta (really well known for pairing off for full duet albums with Donny Hathaway in the 60's & 70's), chose the folk style approach for this song, which in turn ties into what Brendan is teaching, and a style she opened up to, having not really been following at the time! (I know far too much "teacher" in me, needing the world to find more than just see, take, look at this.... and move on as if there wasn't anything more to it. but in 5 minutes, you may be floored with the wow of where it came from rather than the....OK here it is! Ta! Da! (Leaving....LOL!) TY for the lesson Brendan, at 63, I'm now inherited ny kid brother's guitar, who all my life said "You need to learn how to play this!" so...I'm trying! (According to moost, I'm very trying! :o?

@shaheen1990 oh i am sorry i should have explained better. Look at 4:19 when the B7 chord is coming up. The B chord this guy plays is correct, but the chord diagram is showing a different B chord than what he plays, nice too but different. It surprised me too to see this silly mistake in there, because the overall production quality on this is really outstanding.

@Samscoinsandheavymetal5 жыл бұрын
Cécile Carrara not the one demonstrated. You’d be better arpeggiating it than what was played in the demo. As others pointed out the B7 demod showed a Bsus2 and when he says you can play the low F# in the bass that’s wrong (B7/F#), the B bass note is critical especially where it’s a borrowed chord. Try playing it as a triad in the higher register leaving out the 5th (F#)
