Idk, they used to be very picky about skins being representative of the hero but now they just do whatever lol

Late response, but the sceptre that throws someone in the air can be used on yourself to continue dealing damage while staying invulnerable. Other than that, typical items to make you sturdy and bloodstone for spell life steal and area of effect. Aghanims Shard seems also helpful with other heroes with movement control, like a sand king, crystal maiden or mars, but that depends on team composition. Generally, health and armor are the most important.
