First turn goes to the person who most recently went on a date. I feel personally attacked by this.

I can't wait for your channel to grow even larger and be a go-to location for myself and many other gamers for what will be a great resource for fast simple rule explanation with no frills. Your channel is awesome and I can't wait to see the library content it grows into !

Thank you! Our first week far exceeded our expectations. It's gonna take us quite a bit of time to build up our library, but we're excited for the challenge!

In the newer (boxed) version, there is no tiebreaker: there's only one discard pile in the middle that everyone uses. However I like the old rule better, so I'm glad you explained that one.

+B4YL1FE Wow, I had no idea they changed it in a newer edition. I was going off of the bagged version I own. Thanks for the heads up!

Great video, but i still cant figure out what to do with the separate side card. Or, what you do with the faceup cards… are they just there forever and not to be touched?

Nice video... but maybe add a pop-up explaining that instead of guessing the 'name' of the card the guard is hunting for; you guess the "number"... this way the rule is the same, even if you're playing the "expanded" version of more than 4ppl.

Never give someone a Guard using a King. Rembmer that.
@gothxx3 жыл бұрын
Unless you know they have a guard, and want the guard more than the king. Or you want that player to have the guard to knock out someone else (since they can't target you).
@glowstonelovepad92943 жыл бұрын
@@gothxx They only can't target you if you use the Handmaid, but you can't use the Handmaid and the King in the same turn!
@gothxx3 жыл бұрын
@@glowstonelovepad9294 What I meant was that Guard cannot eliminate another Guard since with a guard card you need to name a "non-guard card". (Well, you can be targeted, but not be eliminated since any "guess" must be something else)

I've played this many times before - it's a fun game and all, but what is the meaning behind the removing of the top card before the round starts?
@JossArden7 жыл бұрын
I assume it makes it more difficult to keep track of how many cards of each type are still in play if you don't know which card was pulled at the beginning of the round.
@thebrianunger6 жыл бұрын
Also: that one card is removed so that it is available to be drawn if a player is targeted by a Prince (5) in the final round

Wait, if the you discard the Princess under the effect of the Prince you're out?
@thatrottenotaku65966 жыл бұрын
Marcus yup,in any case and circumstance,if you loose or discard your princess you're immediately out of the round.Which is why you have to be extra careful if you have the princess card.
@Carighan7 жыл бұрын
Also of note: If you have the Kanai factory edition the 7 is different: Instead of discarding it under certain circumstances, you are *out of the round* if your hand sums to 12 or more.
@TheRulesGirl7 жыл бұрын
Good point. I don't have a good intuition of how popular that edition is, but if the rules are different, it warrants a mention!

I still really do not get what makes this game any 'fun'? Sure, there will be some tactics, but's it seems like a luck-fest. Can somebody tell me what i'm missing?
@alixx_legenddark_xx28193 ай бұрын
Well, if you like card counting… But jokes aside, you could say the same thing bout coup and other social games. What makes this game fun is the deduction aspect of it. Why else are there 5 guards in the deck (6 in the new version)? Yes, some hands are probably very luck-dependent (looking at you, 9-3/3-3), but that’s why it’s played in multiple rounds. And, especially with bigger player counts, every turn matters. Not so much with 2-3 players, but with 4, everyone only gets 2 turns+1 for the start player, assuming both princes are in the deck (3+2 for the first 2) which puts pressure on you. It builds up to a climax. And once you start getting better at the game, you’ll start thinking not only what you think your opponents have, but also what they think you have and bluff them. Maybe place down a countess for no reason at all?

We'll get around to Libertalia eventually. There's quite a backlog to get through! We use directly scanned assets to make our videos (though I would love to get our hands on digital assets directly from the publishers).
