How To Play Magik In Marvel Rivals [Closed Alpha Test]

Magik is definitely one of the harder characters to get used to, but she is soo rewarding and satisfying. I think with some balancing to ranged heroes she'll feel a lot better. Decided to post this content on the main KZbin because I thoroughly enjoy Marvel Rivals and think my Overwatch audience for the most part likes it too. I'm super stoked for this game and would love to continue making content for it!

1. If your gonna one trick a hero you should at least learn to spell there name right. Magic doesn’t have a K 2. Not swapping when someone tells you too isn’t cool, your just feeding 3. Its a team based game so if your gonna be apart of a team you should act like it and play a meda hero like storm or black cougar 4. Got the chance to play with you yesterday! IGN was Ape and i was likely playing Rocket or Luna. I think I was among one of the many that mentioned at the end of the game "First good Magik i've played with" lol. Genuinely still the best Magik i've played with! Hope to play again soon! Watching you play the character completely swapped my perspective on her! :)

Magik’s one of my favorite characters in the comics. Definitely recommend the Midnight Suns game if you’re interested in her, and she features heavily in the New Mutants team in the comics with a lot of her origins being back in the 80s New Mutants run. She’s super cool!

You said something that really resonated with me (the sweet, sweet music of teammates telling you to switch off Magik). In ow2 when I played (this is the only season when I stopped completely) my endorsement rating was a 5 which was the highest because I always just tried to play the game, keep things positive and commend my teammates but the only time I'd ever get toxic is when a teammate would spend all game critiquing my character pick. Normally I should mute them but I'm so locked into the game that I'd have to navigate the menu then a sub menu, look for the player specifically and mute them then back out to get back in the game and I always felt like I was AFK'ing and not working and this is during a death waiting for me to come out of spawn (I play console, maybe it's more cumbersome). Usually I just stand my ground and tell people not to pick my player since I'm not picking theirs for them and we end up arguing the whole game because they feel another pick compliments their character but they'll just say it's for the betterment of the team composition. What do you do (this goes for anybody) when you're confronted about how YOU need to swap because your pick is a "throw pick"? Do you say yes, absolutely which character may I use? Or do you say just play the game and stop complaining. Or do you mute them? And the thing is what happens half the time when someone tells you to swap and the team is losing it creates a mob mentality against you so someone who was silent all game will then pile on and get on the mic for the first time and say, yeah you need to swap when in all reality the team is just getting outplayed as a whole but it's easier to assign the blame on you and make it seem like your pick was the only problem the entire game and if it hadn't been for that the game would've been won. It's the only pet peeve of mine. That and AFK'ers but other than that I truly enjoy what I see from Marvel Rivals and am just waiting for it to drop on consoles.

I get told I’m throwing for playing the one character I know how to play, then when I swap to whatever the team wants, we still get rolled. It turns out, the character I use has a hard time getting value when other people aren’t creating space, taking focus, etc. 9/10 times it’s more than just one person’s fault but it’s easier to scapegoat the stats you can see on a scoreboard

I do, yes, I've been thoroughly enjoying myself way more playing this game than I have playing.. other games lately lol I think they will need a role queue & severe balancing, but mechanically it is extremely fun, amazing art, ui, etc.

I’m just like you but with Luna Snow. I wish Luna had incombat mobility, her ice skate should’ve been an active for this. But it’s nice being able to counter almost every ult with my own ult 😂

Great Video! I also got the Magik brain worms :D i noticed while playing that she has a differnt atatck with melee and you can kinda cancel out of a swing with it. but could'nt really test well enough cause i ussually just live for .75s lol

She just needs something like her long range attack binding flying enemies to the ground and she'll be perfect, just offset it with a longer cooldown. Or make it 3 air slashes instead but they need to be hit with all 3 to bind them and you can also use it defensively to scare em off.

I always loved melee characters bit they've never been good in overwatch, paladins, etc. it's nice to see that this game isn't afraid to add them!! let's just hope they balance them well

I found using E into demon works quite good as well the demon has a pretty big vertical hitbox so it still hits when they land after the e knock up , also you can use quick melee in a combo so you can do , left click > right click > left click > quick melee

my issue is that like %80 of the time when you go in with her knock up it wont even work itll just go through the enemy or just stop you literally touching your nose with theirs just staring at them, not to mention the worst hitboxes i have ever seen in a video game.

Someone mentioned that Melee focused character are weak in this game. While they may not be as broken as some characters. Seeing this guide and spiderman shows that a melee focused character is a must have on a team.
