legit the best fucking tutorial of my entire existence. My whole life has come to this one moment, the perfect easiest to process not too long tutorial. I love you so much. all other tuts are bad but this gave meaning to my life. I now know my purpose on this rock

I believe I may have seen at least one that was better (maybe 2000 or more). But you nailed it. I see by your tutorials that you made on your used $100 cracked surplus camera, using free open source software (like I did), so that you could show your nieces and nephews to never be ashamed to be yourself; that you know exactly what I m doing. Hero. If you play - keep playing; regardless of genre. Otherwise Spooderman for you! Next time ask to see her ID ;)

I'm glad to hear that! This is a new way of teaching for me, so I'm still figuring it out. I taught private lessons years ago, and this is... kinda similar, but difficult because I have to imagine a student sitting with me (it's hard to explain). Thank you for watching! :)

Brilliant presentation. did you use any VSTs for this beautiful tone?
@corytoddmusic Жыл бұрын
Thanks Richi! I use the Joyo "American" amp simulator pedal, which boosts my guitar signal, then run it into my computer and add reverb, tweak the EQ and sometimes add a second amp vst to colour the tone... usually a JCM 800, or Bassman to add some warmth.

Hi! What chords are played at the end of the song?
@corytoddmusic3 жыл бұрын
If you mean the piano: It sounds like CMaj7, Bm7 (DMaj over B), BbMaj7(Fsus4 into FMaj in right hand with Bb in left hand ), into D9 (Emaj right hand over D in left hand). That progression is played twice. The scale improv/play sounds like a C minor (EbMajor) scale, then into an Em7 arpeggio, repeated again. I would need to slow this down and transcribe it all to be sure. But I hope that helps!

6/8 time
@corytoddmusic2 жыл бұрын
Haha! Elias, I was just listening to it again, and I agree that the rhythm section is a 6/8 feel. However, the overall feel is in 4, for example: 1 e and, 2 e and, 3 e and, 4 e and. So, more of a 3/8 feel in groupings of 4 (or something like that).... Tom Misch never fails to impress! ;)
@Hello_there_obi Жыл бұрын
Too much going on in the intro solo. Sounds too nervous and edgy for this kind of song. But lovely chops!
@corytoddmusic Жыл бұрын
Thanks! I'd keep going on for hours on that intro if I had the time, squeezing every drop of sound out of my guitar, regardless of mood or genre, whether it screams or sobs or drips like sweet honey (the way that Misch's guitar does)... I just love playing my Strat. And really, that's all this video is about. Pick it up, and play it... here is a song you can use as a canvas! (But, yes, from a production stand point, I would never release a version of this song, with that solo on it... or would I? ;) hah! cheers.
