The bucket reflects physical projectiles (cannonball, rockets) And absorbs energy projectiles (Fireballs, explosions, and lasers) A good throw combo is a down throw, small jump, and a judge. If you land the 9 itll be a guaranteed kill at basically any lightly damaged percent. Your up air is an infuriating move to fight against if your enemy has few sideways recovery options, like King K Rool, as he can do virtually nothing to stop you from doing it. Your strongest smash attack is scuba helmet, and at lower percents combined with a good setup, read, or ground with the hammers, is one of your best options as it can kill with no charge. Chef is a NIGHTMARE to vertically strong recoveries. Ike and Chrom will suffer if you sit near an edge and spam this move, as they can get no where close to the ledge. If they do, jump and drop a bomb. Your a very high damage but easy to kill character, but parachute makes you a GOD when trying to keep someone off stage. If you save your double jump and air dodge, you can go after even guaranteed kills and just hit them a few more times with little risk.

-Mr game and watch's dash attack has him wearing a small hat, you can combo someone off the stage with it, and it surprisingly can cancel/clash an opponents attack -The chef special can be angled with your analog stick -Nair is actually really useful, as its hitbox is huge and that can help with clashing/canceling out attacks, and since it's a multi hit, you have a good chance of stopping an opponent and continue your juggle -the uair was a windbox in previous games, along with his downtilt, not an invisible attack -dair has a spike hitbox at the startup of the attack -new to this game, his fair, you can try hitting your opponent and fast falling to a platform and extending with an air attack or quick smash -his down smash has grounding effects but the hitbox is near the middle of the hammers

The new u-air does not kill at practical percents, (not even sure if it does at all since I've yet to see it kill) but it's power as a juggling tool is imo much better. It makes staying above G&W a nightmare with both u-air being near unpunishable and n-air a large hard to avoid hitbox to keep opponents up if they get close to the ground, the damage can rack up extremely quickly. The new u-air is absolutely amazing after up-b as well, being easy to combo out of. Not to mention that Frame 3 up-b out of shield is a highly viable tactic, making it both easy to get a u-air conversion and a frequent opportunity for opponents getting too frisky with your shield. He can't convert off of throws for it anymore and kill, but trading that for a powerful out of shield option for easy stacking damage is way better if you ask me.

If there was a higher tier then top tier which should be SS tier heck even more like a SRR+ tier g&w is in it. G&W is my favourite at the 1st tied with Ridley. The jump of game and watch is The fastest at a whooping 2 frames and gives invincibly for a short bit. It does damage the jump and then we get the chair attack which is a good killer when the enemy is at 70% and above. The judge attack can get 1 which recoils and you lose 12% to you but if you get a 7 you get apples which are good when your enemy has done some damage. So yea Ridley and G&W are like my mains. Hope you game and watch fans like me take the advice. The only weakness is well... oh yea mr game and watch is insane so you can’t really play bad. In adventure mode you get it so early which seems so broken. Four stars aren’t hard but if you don’t usually use g&w you can use Kirby.

A couple of things I noticed you missed: The F-Smash has a sweetspot hitbox where the "flame" of the animation is. This kills quite early and does significantly more damage and knockback than the near hitbox. Oil Panic (The Bucket) does more damage depending on the projectile it absorbs, and deals almost 3x the damage and knockback of the original projectile(s). Absorbing Samus's charge shot or Ness' PK Flash will fully charge the bucket, and give him a OHKO/instant shield break move. Likewise, 3 Mario fireballs or Mega Man lemons aren't likely to kill all too early. A common misconception is that the attack from Oil Panic is a projectile. It is NOT a projectile and it cannot be reflected. A filled bucket is to be feared. Another distinction with the bucket is what projectiles it absorbs vs what it reflects. "Physical" projectiles will be reflected (K.Rool's guff, Link's guff, Samus' missiles, Snake's grenades and Nikita), where as "Energy" or explosion projectiles will be absorbed (Samus charge shot, the explosion from Snake's grenades, Pichu/Pikachu Thunder). The down air spikes consistently at the very start of the move and it's a very small and fast sweetspot. Using it at the ledge however, if your opponent has exhausted their ledge intangibility, you can short hop d-air to immediately spike. Notes on Judge: You shouldn't spam Judge for funnies; 1s deal significant self damage. The 1 also deals no hitstun, so you can't rely on Judge to make an opponent flinch. 3 deals a lot of shield damage, and crosses up. If your opponent isn't prepared, you can land a second Judge or go for a shield break. 5 deals little knockback, and you might be able to get an airdodge read into a second Judge. 6 kills quite early, especially at the edge. 7 offers healing items, which your opponent can take. Eat those quickly!

G&W bucket tips: The bucket doubles as a reflector, but only in front of you. The higher the damage of the projectile, the more damage your oil does. Moves like Ness’ PK Flash insta-fills your bucket. The bucket only holds Energy based projectiles. Other tips: Down tilt has best knockback, even more than chair. Up throw > Up air > Jump on higher platform > Up air

- About his f-smash, it deals less knockback the closest to Mr.Game & Watch, the flame is the strong spot, giving the burning effect (here 3:00 you hit it with no burning effect, that's why the knockback was so small). - As others comment, bucket now reflects physical projectiles, it absorbs ink. This property is a bit weird with bombs, if they're thrown at you directly they get just reflected, but if timed correctly you can absorb them right when explode (works with all bombs that characters can use). - His recovery it's now better to use to escape from combos, and still a great option, yet now it's a way more risky to go for a metor/spike since d-air it's slow to act from. - Something I'm not really sure of it's manipulating the judge 9 probability, I usually roll the stick up right away and they appear often (like if making reverse ganon punch but up), maybe it's just a mental thing like smashing A to catch a pokémon? - N-air is just great! - You can take advantage that Mr.Game & Watch it's an underused character, almost no one knows how to deal with him and get easily triggered when losing against him (and more if it was because a 9). All of this is based in experience, f-smash and bucket properties mentioned here were totally tested, tho you could test them by your own. Hope this is useful for someone! :)

Fun fact, anything in your bucket stays in your bucket even after you die. Also max damage with a full bucket is 57% and can kill most characters at 0 if they are close to the edge. An easy way to get max bucket damage is snakes forward smash, samus charge shot, robins fully charged lightning, pk flash, pk freeze and basically any other high damage non physical projectiles.

G&Ws bucket, judge and recovery i feel you didnt say some things about them or you said it wrong for the recovery he has two hit boxes at start up and one at the peak of his recovery. His bucket is only able to absorb energy projectiles and reflects all physical projectiles and the bucket will be held even after losing a stock he also will take what he stored up and multiply the damage and so omost every time you use bucket to attack it does diffrent damage (also great on shield). Judge even though you only see 8 and 9 usefull you should still explain 1-7, 1 you take 14 damage even if you dont hit the enemy and only does 2 damage if it, 2 does 4 damage, 3 does 7 damage and knock back opposite to the direction you hit the opponent, 4 does 9 damage, 5 is a multi hit attack that also does electric damage it does 14 damage, 6 is also 14 damage but a fire attack, 7 gives 3 apples which each heal 4 for a total of 12 health and does 16 damage, 8 freezes the enemy which is pretty good for combos and does 15 damage, 9 does 38 damage plus kills really early from its high knockback. And thats it if i missed anything then pls tell me.

1 has no knockback whatsoever and has no uses except for denying enemies a second Up-B recovery from the hitstun that literally any other move in G&W's arsenal would cause 2 is essentially a free jab lock on your opponent and can leave them open to a fast move like f-tilt or dash attack at low % 3 is fairly decent for low % 2-hit combos if you can react to the backward knockback quick enough for a followup smash/tilt 4 does the highest damage to shields (Still isn't a shieldbreaker though) 5 is mostly used for juggling and starting air combos 6 is G&W's second-strongest Judge attack; It launches opponents directly sideways and if used offstage can easily gimp nearly the entire cast to death at most any % and outright kill at higher % 7 does pretty good damage in addition to the apples as mentioned but G&W has to be careful to not let his opponent into a position to eat them as they get dropped out of the hammer onto the floor when it connects 8 freezes the opponent longer at higher % 9 actually does 40% damage, up from 36% in Sm4sh.

Here's the list of things judge can do 1-Lowest of the low, does recoil and doesn't flinch 2-Launches, but not much 3-Launches towards game and watch 4-Slashing attack that launches diagonally 5-A multi-hit electric attack 6-Flaming semi-spike, which is pretty dangerous off stage 7-Makes food edible by anyone. In ultimate, MrG&W will make 3 apples. 8-Freezes, like the freezie item 9-Holy Saviour, KOs at minimums of 5-10%, even OHKOing super lightweights at 0%

For bucket, energy based projectiles are what can be absorbed, so fireballs and beams. Physical projectiles are reflected instead. Also, the strength of the bucket varies greatly depending on what you absorb. Absorbing inkling’s neutral B gives you around 20% damage with 3 stacks, but absorbing PK flash to 3 stacks gives around 40 or 50%.

The bucket's damage also caps out at 60 percent and any extra damage you take in will go to waste so absorbing 2 little hits and then a big hit will make the big hit go to waste On the plus side its bucket range is ludicrous (2x Game & Watch's size in all directions) and if you keep it held out it can literally reflect projectiles forever as long as they hit the bucket itself

Quick basic summary: Up-B is stupidly good, Bucket is basically best reflecter/absorber, Up smash and Down Smash are really good, has huge dash grab, All aerials are really good for combo, kill, edgeguard, juggling, getting to ground, shield pressure, Chef can be angled and edgeguard along with dash/ftilt comboing it. Has dsmash, chef, dair, bair being good ledge guard/2 frame tools. His only mediocre moves are Uptilt (which can combo) dtilt (which can kill) fsmash (which can kill early and combo with dsmash) and judge (which the almighty 9 can really destroy any stock)

Neutral Special is a surprisingly good attack. If you catch an opponent with it who's approaching and wasn't expecting it, you can do up to 30 damage in a second and a half. It's fantastic for griefing sword/melee characters and can really tilt an opponent if you keep catching them with it. Also, G&W's down and forward tilts have pretty good kill potential. Near the ledge his down tilt in particular is a real killer

More tips: His UpB comes at frame 2 or 3 so its a good out of shield option or if you want to break the combo of your oponent (it saves you from luigi's 0 to death) Upsmash was nerfed from smash 4, it has invencibility frames but only on his active hitboxes, not on startup so it's not that good of an antiair anymore Dthrow kills at very high percents so its a good way to kill if you're struggling to get a kill

Mr Game And Watch is so overpowered and I love it. He has high jump, he’s really fast, he has several stun attacks, and his final smash is very easy to time correctly.

Something new about Game and Watch is that you can actually angle the food coming out of the pan by inputting a direction during the attack.

The bucket can also be filled by the explosion, and the power of the oil is based on the power of the absorbed attacks; for examples, if you absorb 3 projectiles of the laser gun, the oil will kill the opponents with about 40-60% min, when if he absorb an explosion of a bob-omba, the oil will kill the opponents with about 10% of damage

As a G&W main I can safely say this video is ok but a lot of the points I say below he didn't say or was wrong about: His side tilts are very good, his frying pan can be angled close, mid or far which makes it a great ledge option, judge is not actually that good as it gets predictable so the best aay to use it is to throw it out every so often, his forward air can often get kills, Nair and toot toot are his only platform option as his tilts and smashes don't reach and lastly grabs just down throw into nair or judge but honestly he struggles to grab. Also, spook the other player with bucket. Do not use it asap because you can often make them feel nervous and not want to do certain things as they think you may bucket. Play the long game. Hope this helps.

One thing I would like to note about Judge in this game is that they reverted his number cycle back to the way it worked in Melee and Brawl. Whenever you swing your hammer, you are guaranteed to not get the last number you got. For example, I believe G&W starts the match with the number 1 being his last number. The game thinks that was his last number when starting the match. Therefore, your first Judge number must be between 2 and 9. Let's just say he swings his hammer and gets a 9. The next number that appears must be between 1 and 8 and cannot be 9. In Smash 4, all the numbers were random, meaning you could get three 9's in a row if you were lucky enough.

Some additional info for the chef mechanics. It's spread is not entirely randomised. You can control where it goes by pushing up or down on the c stick after initiating the attack.

A lot of missing info, yes the bucket stores energy projectiles and reflects physical projectiles but it also stacks the damage from energy projectiles so Samus, Mewtwo, Lucario will kill super low and some charged projectiles will fill 2-3 levels in the bucket. Also it can collect bomb blasts.

Fun fact: It's pretty well known, but if you absorb different projectiles, you will do different knockback and damage. For example, absorbing PK Flash is more powerful than absorbing PK Fire. Also, losing a stock doesn't empty your bucket
