What a magic piece of music No Quarter by Led Zeppelin is.
I've always wanted to work out the synth part on guitar; I finally set aside some time this week to make that happen and figured I'd share it with you lovely lot.
Have fun.

📖 Those of you asking about the Book: geni.us/WIcnLY It’s now a WORLDWIDE Amazon affiliate link; revenue helps support the channel. ❤ It's called Led Zeppelin All the Songs: The Story Behind Every Track and I've linked to it above. It will take you to UK Amazon but you should be able to find it in your own country from there. It's a proper Page turner 😏 beautiful quality and if you like being a know it all, a must have for a Zeppelin fan.

I've had this book for a couple years now and as Sped says, it's a must for Zep/Page fanatics. It breaks down the recording and gear used on every track to include the unreleased (and subsequently released tracks). A phenomenal reference book.

Thanks for the breakdown of the core. The Beauty of Zeppelin is one can improvise and add interpretations to the progression. Even Jimmy never played the song or most of his songs the same way during those epic concerts. Have seen and heard so many variations: each one is Hauntingly Beautiful & Emotionally Transcending.

great video, great version, very different from how I play it. Just wanted to add this for newer players: to get that crunchy tone on the power chords, it's worth making use of your pickups and their individual tone/volume controls (if you have those on your guitar). I use the neck pickup with high tone and low volume (so that it doesn't distort much) for the verse. Then for the chorus I switch to the bridge pickup with high volume (to crunch) and low tone (to get that roaring sound that you hear on the album). You can combine that with the foot switch on your fuzz pedal, but with this setup I usually just leave it on.

Thx for all the awesome Zep content Sped. When sorting a JPJ keyboard part, or EVH for that matter, it's super helpful to remember these guys are not strong keyboard players and they often "cheat" by putting the songs in keys that utilize *only the white keys of the piano*. Only natural notes -- no flats or sharps. No accidentals a.k.a. black keys. D-Dorian just happens to be...All The White Keys. This makes it easy to play licks and arpeggios (like the descending cascade-y ones for example in No 1/4) that sound impressive but are actually quite rudimentary on keys. Knowing that the part isn't a challenging keyboard part to play can help guide us when attempting to mimic on guitar. PS same goes for All My Love (Am) and Jump (C) and others.
