Great tutorial. Pickup position should be 2 (bridge & middle).

Hey sped, i was scrolling through the zep playlist and realized you haven't done Since I've Been Loving You. Some badass licks in that track. I also recommend looking into the Madison Square Garden version they played in 73, really beautiful Dorian lick in the intro solo.

Love that finish, at least the way it looks on here! A lot of the photos of the xtra special old pale, don't look as dark as it does here. How true to life is your colour grading of this film, did you bring the shadows down a fair bit? Great review, I've really started to look a bit closer at Hagstrom guitars. And yes for the review of the other hagstroms please

Excellent. Unfortunately I won’t watch this…or ANY Gilmour product ever again, for the rest of my days. His woke, “vax” pushing, legacy destroying arrogance is repugnant. I rarely say this, but I hate him as a human being.

This is great - thanks so much for showing I’m not crazy. I started playing it the second-third way years ago, which as you point out sounds like how it was done on the album. The background baseline during the verse is also amazing and adds a lot to it.

Joe is one of the greatest. The Toys album has more than the usual amount of studio work - Joe’s ending solo on Sweet Emotion might be difficult to play as a cover - Jack Douglass tells how most of it was created by splicing together many two-second tape bits of Joe messing around on the guitar. Some of the other solos might be difficult to play for similar reasons.

The editor is very good, but the guitarist is not. If they are the same person, you could spend more time studying guitar, and not learning how to edit to make fake solos to fool idiots.

Nicely done, Spedrick. A great look to go along with your killer playing. You might want to try wrapping those strings around the tailpiece; changes the break angle and provides more sustain.
@SpedSpedding5 күн бұрын
Thanks for the compliments and glad you enjoyed the video. I used to overwrap for a few years, you will see looking back. The damage it did to the tailpiece with strings digging in wasn't worth it imo. I also don't believe I got any more sustain or resonance out of it. I've now moved back to using the tailpiece as it was designed, to be adjusted dependent on the players set up and I like mine high with a high action.

I bought the Graphtech Resomax bridge for my Les Paul a few months ago on your recommendation . I realy like it better then the stock bridge that came with the guitar. Thanks!
@SpedSpedding5 күн бұрын
Definitely agree with you and glad you liked the upgrade. You are in safe hands with that bridge. When I took my old stock bridge off it had buckled/warped. Played Graphtech for years and always rated. This video just came out of a few chats with friends, curiosity and the overall look of my guitar.
