@@freesk8 I took something else out of this lesson. As a campfire guitarist , I was strumming the D chord ( yes it’s an E before some smartarse corrects me ) and trying to pick the melody. Now I’m playing the melody and strumming in the space between notes. The difference is amazing.

Thanks so much for posting this Shane. I’m having a little trouble incorporating the strumming. Are you muting your “Chicka Chicka’s?” I’m getting a full D chord and it sounds terrible.

Great point David - thanks for being here. Best to make the melody 'primary' and not wash it out with strumming that is too loud/aggressive. I call them 'whisper strums' - maybe just the top (thinnest) 3 strings or so.....nice and light in the strumming will bring out the melody. Best to you, Shane
