Brilliant lesson as always. I still struggle with this due to hand damage at work. This video however, gives me the insensitive to keep practicing. Thanks again for the great videos.

Fantastic video. I had forgotten how great this technique sounds. I wonder how long it will take to learn to get it up to speed so it sounds like tremolo picking and not triplets.

Thanks Eric, I practiced it a lot in my second year of uni and it solidified pretty quickly. Once you get the technique and fluidity it only requires a bit of maintaining which is why I play recuerdos most days. I don't know what level you are but I would say using the technique I explained within a few months it should sound pretty good. Saying that some really great players have told me they still struggle with it.

At 4:58 you mentioned that there will be recommendation of easy tremolo pieces at the end of the video, but I could not find any.

A good piece to practice tremolo is Carcassi Study no 7 Op 25 (the A section) and also the famous Malaguena pattern where you play 3 Es rather than one. To be honest there aren't really any easy tremolo pieces because it's an advanced technique. Scott Tenant's Pumping Nylon also has some good tremolo exercises.

I’m studying Recuerdos de la Alhambra at the moment, although I’m slowly getting there I get a kind of ‘panting’ with my tremolo. Is there any other tips you can give me other than what is already in the video? Brilliant video btw. 😎😎😎

Thanks Abi I’ll post some more tremolo tips, if you have an example of your tremolo for me to have a listen to that would help.

@@latinguitarmastery Thanks for that I forgot to subscribe ‘sorry’ rectified now so won’t miss any now, getting a sample to you may be problematic but never say never! I know my tremolo is uneven it seem to be my ‘i’ finger that’s causing the problem but I’m working on it with a metronome. Regards.

at 3:47 when you say i,,, m,, i,,,m do i have to play the thumb at the same time of i ?
@latinguitarmastery2 жыл бұрын
The right hand pattern is a-m-i-m with the thumb playing the same time as the a finger. It’s a good training exercise for the actual tremolo which is p-a-m-i . Hope that helps.

@@latinguitarmastery how many hours per day do i have to train,, how about the nails do i have to let them grow
@latinguitarmastery2 жыл бұрын
it depends how proficient you want to become. They say 10,000 hrs will make a professional but you can be a good intermediate with a lot less than that. For nail length you might want to check out this video : kzbin.info/www/bejne/p3fTfaJofdl4a6M

Hey :) I started playing tremolo in august last year. I reached 110 bpm. I feel stuck at this speed. How to raise it to 140, 150 for recuerdos or limosna por el amor de dios
@latinguitarmastery3 жыл бұрын
Sounds like you've progressed really well in a short time. Admittedly tremolo can take a long time to master. To help my tremolo I would practice a -m - i - m with the thumb playing at the same time as the 'a' finger. It's difficult at first but it evens out the tremolo so that when you go back to p-a-m-i you'll see an improvement. Think smooth rather than speed. I might post something about this so stay tuned!
@igorperic52323 жыл бұрын
@@latinguitarmastery Thank you! I even tried (a-m) and (a-i) to practice by itself since this combinations have significantly less speed than (m-i).

There are two melodies the top one in the tremolo and a supporting one in the thumb part.
@drmdjones2 жыл бұрын
The thumb does NOT play a melody in tremolo; it is accompaniment.
@latinguitarmastery2 жыл бұрын
it’s a secondary melody

@@latinguitarmastery Well, it CAN be that but mostly it's arpeggiated chords.
