I'm an animator and I've studied Ragna's frames for practice a ton. I'll never forget opening the sprite folder and going 'DAMN, LOOK AT THAT KICK!' Infinity kick aside, he's my fave character in Blazblue and your vid came out just when I finally decided to buy the game. Thanks, man!

I love these little beginner guides on characters. They actually teach you how to approach the neutral and what buttons to press as a complete newb, not just combos, which you can find enough of. I don't know if you have considered it, but perhaps do a series where you go over each character in the roster and do a beginner guide for each (apart for Arakune maybe, don't need more of those). Also love how you casually victimised some innocent bystanders just to prove your Ragna supremacy in the guide.
@the_exxtra14253 жыл бұрын
I like the part in the guide where you use the character and show off and point the tips you explained, which really makes it feel like someone could jump in and really try a character out. A thing with guides is besides being info dumps, they make it feel like you have to still put in the work yourself to see how the game would actually play out. I like the idea of a guide kinda being like this where you try to "sell" us on a character, do everything to make a character seem as appealing as possible and showing that character in action. The Ragna infomercial.
@why2k873 жыл бұрын
This was honestly a great video, the way you explained how your buttons were important and highlighted them in a match was great.
@TheKmanOfSmash3 жыл бұрын
Just wanted to provide some feedback and say that your guides are really great and are unlike most guides I see. You skip the fluff and really specific stuff that many guides include (like complete overview of moves, frame data, set ups, combos, etc) and not only stick to the core, fundamental stuff you should know about the character, but also display those fundamentals in real time matches with your commentary so it really sticks in. I know it probably feels really simple and not all that special, but I think this style of guide is extremely intuitive and excellent for getting new or beginning players started with playing the game under a strong foundation. If this becomes a series, I will support every video! You have a real talent for this. Thank you for saving BlazBlue, Jiyuna!

You really have to believe in yourself with Ragna at high level. His approach is pretty predictable that you're doing stagger pressure with rapid cancels just to keep up the heat. Ragna being my favorite character since launch. I do fool around with more character since CF but nothing like a true Bloodedge to test your fundamentals.

There's something mad relaxing about playing a pocket Ragna, specially as someone who likes playing the hyperactive setup weirdos. Everything just strings together so smoothly. The miniguide is greatly appreciated, the forgotten boy needs more love. It's a shame Mori didn't get to bring him back in BBDW.

To me Ragna will always be the best protagonist in all of fighting games. I generally don't play the 2 shotos of the games but Ragna is the only character I went back and play because he's so fun, that combined with his desing and the godtier voice acting makes me like it way more than Sol. A shame Mori decided to give the D to him in Central Fiction. Btw switching from Ragna to Es was the greatest mistake of your life Jiyuna

*sigh* Mirror matches are NOT always even- again, if you read Japanese BBS you'd know. In Japan, difficulty of mirror match is based on how differently you need to play the character during the mirror, and whether you gain or lose your main tools. For example, as a Ragna player, I don't have to adjust my playstyle for the mirror (just space my 5b)- I actually get new tools to use specifically for the match (double berial variation, dp clashing gimmicks, etc). Because of these factors, it's generally accepted here that Ragna has a relatively easy mirror, which acts as a 6-4 matchup when it comes to character ranking. On the other hand, Arakune mirrors cause the player to play a completely different style plus he loses a lot of his options (where's your curse pressure when you're cursed yourself?). Last I read, the Japanese said he has the hardest mirror and ranked it at 3-7 in terms of character ranking, but I haven't checked recently. And then finally, a lot of chars like Bang/Tsubaki/Hakumen have relatively plain mirrors which get 5-5 in terms of character ranking. But again, I don't think US is ready to add in these factors when they're still putting out tier lists like this one. Maybe wait until BBCF2, then give it a try.
