How to play Rock Paper Scissors

Learn the rules to the game Rock Paper Scissors quickly and concisely - This visually rich video has no distractions, just the rules.
Rules:
The object of this two-player game is to beat the symbol your opponent throws in a best of three. There are three symbols: Rock (a closed fist), Paper (a flat hand palm down), and Scissors (a fist with two fingers out). Symbols are always thrown on an open palm.
To throw a symbol, the 2 players face each other and hold one hand open, palm up and rest their other hand in a fist on top of it. One player asks if the other is ready, once they are that player says, “Rock, paper, scissors, shoot.” Both players hit their fist into their palm when each word is said. When the final word is said, “shoot”, on that hit, both players simultaneously make one of the symbols with their moving hand and hold it open on the palm.
Rock beats scissors, scissors beats paper, and paper beats rock. If there is a tie you re throw. If a player changes their symbol after both players have thrown, then they lose that throw. The first player to beat their opponent 2 times wins.

Saying "this beats that" makes the objects irrelevant. It does not clarify WHY, and then one has to remember. You might as well say "A beats B," etc. The rules are: rock smashes scissors, scissors cut paper, and paper covers rock!

Fun fact: There is a Malaysia version of rock paper scissor that we called "Wan Tu Som". Instead of paper and scissor, we using bird and water. Rock win against bird, bird win against water and water win against rock. There is another version where we add two sign hand to be more challenging with is gun and wood but that version not many people play because they don't know it exist. Gun win against wood and bird Wood win against water and rock Water win against gun and rock Bird win against wood and water Rock win against gun and bird

think of the rock as a boulder\cannon ball, the scissor as a sword\machete, and paper as a big net: cannon ball can break the sword, sword can cut the net, and net can trap the cannon ball.

Do you mean green instead of gray? If that’s the case, I think rock would be red, paper would be blue, and scissors would be green.

@@ericlang7987 I think green would be a secondary color to one of the 3. Like a subset. I'd attribute gray with rock, red with paper, and blue with scissors. But at the end of the day, it kind of doesn't matter what color their shirt is.

I would like to share how we do in Hong Kong with larger group of people, whole group of players play at once, but only put out stone or paper, count the number of total paper and stone , less number count of that group is removed , so now should left with a lot less players to do the normal paper scisors stone game, if the number of player is still too many, than just carry on do one more round of only stone and paper. This way the whole group of players will be more united when doing this game and will find the winner faster, because this game is not actually that fun, but people just do this game to find a winner for different reasons. Most of Hong kong kids know this rule and will automaticlly go to this mode when there are too many players are there, we call this " paper stone less out " 😊😊
