I seen the chillis when they supported U2 at slane in 2001. I had tickets to the chillis headline at 03 but had to sell them. The lineup was unreal,Foos,QOTSA,PJ Harvey. My ex is at the front row of the show on the DVD aswell 😂

What amp are you using? And what are your settings?

Morgan MVP66 and settings are always the same, eq is pretty flat tbh, it’s running not super clean, very slight breakup which is then accentuated by the micro amp as a boost

oh for sure you can get tones galore on the Katana! haven't put together the slane castle live rig on that but it's brilliant for his rhythm tone, just need a slightly dirty sounding clean and you're pretty much there

When you are strumming between the 1st and 4th string in the intro riff, do you always play only 1 string at a time and keep the others muted? Great video btw!!

Yea that’s the tricky bit, you don’t always play one string at a time, sometimes you’re playing two strings but key is to ensure those strings in between are muted then you can strum as you please! That’s how John can play this whilst rocking around on stage 😀🤘

It took me years to get that technique down. Could do it on scar tissue okay but can't stop was so hard. Literally hours upon hours of sounding awful and one day it just clicked.

ds2 before of after the muff?

Not using muff for this one, Fuzz factory circuit into DS2 but for muff (at least in this pedal) I’d run the ds2 before the muff to get a similar tone 🤘

Does the B string need tuned down like the record version?

It's not the B string it's the G string. It's because if you tune the string to G it's the smallest bit 'out'. I don't have the theory knowledge to explain it properly but basically the intervals between A-B-C-D-E-F and G is slightly out but the way music theory maps it out 'rounds up' the G so that all notes are evenly balanced.
