Brother. I’m sharing this video to my Christian Brothers and Sister to encourage them to use shakers in their worship. Thanks for sharing this.

Thanks for the video. As a band member of a church that plays Way Maker, your video got me thinking: I would love to see a video where you quickly run through some different worship songs and show the kinds of percussion you like to do with them - whether it is cajon beats, shaker grooves, tambourine accents, etc... The different types of percussion that you feel work well with the songs.

You do a great job of explaining the 'feel' of the rhythm and why you are putting the accent based on that feel. Shakers are so underrated, hand percussion ftw!!

Indeed! I have a bunch of videos here about it. That Mrs. Dash bottle is just that... Mrs. Dash bottle filled with couscous.

This is great! I just got a shaker to add some interest to a 12 bar blues, but I'm not doing real well with it yet :(

Great video! Are you a lefty by chance? I am a righty with bad carpel tunnel on the right wrist and was shocked to discover how much worse I sound with my left hand both in terms of tone and rhythm

I am a lefty! I am a bit different however in that I am a lefthanded player that plays with right handed setups. For some movements I actually prefer my right hand. I have worked on my right hand for fine motor movements and rhythmic independence over the years. Keep it up and isolate that right hand with lots of repetition. Consistency over time in the confines of a good routine will help. I believe with time and practice you can get that left hand well to hopefully overcome your issues with the right hand.
