This appropriately popped up in my recommendations today. I've learned a lot from Justin (and others) since I picked up the guitar again almost a year ago after a 30 year break. This autumn I decided to try to make my own fingerstyle arrangement of Silent Night, the first proper arrangement I ever made. I'm getting quite a confidence boost by seeing that it is very similar to this one, only I did it in C.

i learned this song when i first started guitar 4-5 years ago, i used to play left handed and now i play right handed, and have come here to re-learn it. man the difference that 5 years makes :)) it took me a solid 2 weeks to nail it down 5 years ago, today i nailed it in 10 minutes!

I have been trying to learn this from a different video but I should have known Justin would have a version that actually tells you where to put your fingers. Thanks for all you do, Justin and hope you and yours have a great holiday season!

Learnt so much from Justin over the last few years, starting as a complete beginner aged 54 and will always be grateful for the help. Have always kept trying and undoubtedly am a slow but committed learner having fun playing. One thing that impresses me about Justin is that overall although clearly an expert he hasn’t forgotten what it is like to be a beginner - many experts do. However on this one I have to disagree with Justin - this isn’t beginner stuff by any stretch of the imagination - finger picking, single string muting, numerous chords variations - or maybe it is and I’m resigned to being a permanent beginner!
@timb.8230 Жыл бұрын
Slow but committed late learner here too... been learning for two years and this arrangement could be manageable but I would say it's definitely late beginner! Does not look particularly easy. Good luck on your journey!

What a good lesson, learnt it in just a few watches, now I am in the polishing phase. Very good and clear instructions, Justin quality! I did want to learn a Christmas song which is not that difficult, as I only started to play the guitar less than a year ago. You have served it on a silver plate. Thank you! I will shoot it and will proudly send it to my family and friends. Wishing you very happy holidays, and thank you for your immense work you do for us.

Think this arrangement is beyond beginner level.
@Bassnbanjos Жыл бұрын
I disagree, there’s many levels of beginners. Not just learning chords and strums all the time. There’s a such thing as advanced stages of a beginner where you’re learning more than the basics.
@markmcevoy6245 Жыл бұрын
@@Bassnbanjos agreed... even though I can relate to the previous' 'beyond' comment... I need to push myself to get beyond my desire to just strum chords...
@V1ctorius Жыл бұрын
I don’t agree. I started to play the guitar a year ago. If anyone is a beginner, I am. Yet I am very close to playing the whole song without looking at the fretboard at all. True, I have put at least a dozen hours into learning and polishing, but I am almost there. Practice makes permanent.
@christiangreaves3911 Жыл бұрын
If your a total beginner yes. I’m intermediate and learned the whole thing in 40 minutes. My son though couldn’t play this at all. He’s a pure beginner though. This is beautiful though and you do a great job of breaking it down and simplifying it.
@jai.aquarian10 ай бұрын
