I'm trying to open my church up to more southern gospel styled music. It's more contemporary type at the moment. I think it's for lack of knowing anything different though. I play the piano pretty often there, and I always get told "Oh, I love how you play! What is that?" So these videos will help me expand my southern gospel style hymns. Thanks so much! :)

Thanks mate for these amazing tutorials! I have learned these years a lot from your free video's. It would have stayed at just listening to southern gospel instead of playing it myself if it wasn't for you! Btw, for the fast left hand, i play the root of the chord with the lower octave, than the chord, and than the fith of the chord with the lower octave. So it's the same as the slow jumps, but the fifth not is played an octave higher. You lose a bit of the bass-sound, but it still sound pretty full.

You mentioned a couple artists...who would you recommend listening to for that country gospel sound?
@benhart32012 жыл бұрын
Dirk Johnson with the old 80s hinsons and the Mcgruders in the 90s had some. Other than that it’s sprinkled throughout

What kind of keyboard are you playing? It sounds like a real grand!
@benhart3201 Жыл бұрын
So it’s a midi sample called pearl grand by impact soundworks. The keyboard is a Yamaha 115 but I’m just using it as a controller for external sound.

Hi! I’m interested in your subscription. Can you tell me - is it absolutely mandatory to subscribe for an entire year or may I cancel earlier if I want to? Thank you 😊

For your left hand that rhythm is hard. Not hard doing it in right hand.
