There is a much better way to play together with 2 keyboards and one license. Simple to do the following. - Install bg3 on both machines by signing into the one steam account with the license to download. - Launch bg3 with steam on one machine. - On the second machine ensure that steam is completely shut down and not running at all. - Then go to where bg3 is installed on the machine and look for the executable file in the bin folder to launch the game. - Now we have the game running at the same time on 2 machines with one instance - From here you simple make a multiplayer lobby and connect to it via direct connection (You copy the link from the host and paste it to connect on the second machine) Not only can you use 2 keyboards you also dont need to deal with splitscreen.

that should be only possible if both machines are in the same network.

@@faistos01 I can 100% confirm this works. I am currently doing this with a good friend of mine and we are not on the same network. You just set up a multiplayer game on the machine running of the steam account and have the other guy connect to it with the direct link/address whatever its called. Try it out yourself :)
