I'd love to see a full playthrough of this. Good work explaining the rules and such. I'm debating whether or not to purchase this game, as it looks quite fun. Like an offline version of the hattrick game I'm used to playing.

Agree, with your amendment idea on selling unwanted players in the off season to raise funds for new players and improvements, seems a logical thing to do in my eyes. I can’t wait for Garibaldi to be unleashed when we start playing this one!
@theboardmasters58004 жыл бұрын
To be fair, the selling unwanted players thing isn't a rule amendment, it's a rule in the game but they don't mention it in their how to play vid and it's buried in the bottom of the pro player rule in the rulebook so seems like something that a lot of people could miss so I just wanted to highlight it.

We did kinda the same with injuries and game changers for sim games. We did that the roll you do that decides the results of the game affects injuries/game changers for the attack and then we roll again two times that only effects injuries/game changers. We did take out quite a few of the game changer cards though, the most OP or worst green or red affects. Also we did our own powerhouse expansion teams which we use in a 2p game (as having the actual expansion isn't necessary. if you know how it works you can just make your own cards or write down the powerhouse teams starting positions and thirds stats and roll to see which one they get). We usually use 2 powerhouse teams in a 2p game. It's too much having to play 4 AI teams and 2 teams works very well. 3 AI teams could be a good middle ground as well. Your rule regarding the unhappy players seems good. But it feels like it will come into play very rarely, as you have to get up to a total stars/starting position that is higher than you finished last season. Let's say even if you only got 6p last season, you would still have to get at least 7 stars or probably more during the off season. But yeah I still think it could be a good rule.
@theboardmasters5800 Жыл бұрын
Credit to you for having the initiative to create your own Powerhouse expansion! Just checking, is the unhappy player rule you mentioned the one where a team in a higher division can buy them or they refuse to play for the season? If so, that isn't my rule. It's in the rulebook.
@Viktor-uv9fr Жыл бұрын
@@theboardmasters5800 yeah I know, I meant your change of the rule. I like it but mentioned that I think your change will very rarely come in to play.

On your injury in sim games rule could you not roll one dice after 1-2 is defence, 3-4 is midfield, 5-6 is attack with the overflow becoming a gamechanger. Also wouldnt someone just sub in all their reserves to protect from possible injuries.
@theboardmasters58002 жыл бұрын
You certainly could do that to determine the position, maybe with an additional roll to determine which player in that row takes the injury... As for subbing in reserves, you could have a rule where they have to use the same lineup as the previous game (only changes for injuries/suspensions) or they have to use the same lineup for the next game. In theory, this shouldn't be an issue with the Powerhouses Expansion but I haven't had a chance to table that yet...

question, why not have it that when playing a simulated game, if you roll a double then treat it as you normally would?
@slo60263 жыл бұрын
HA..sorry just got to that part in your video!! obviously we think alike!
@JD16113 жыл бұрын
An issue I have with doubles leading to injuries is that you can easily get double the punishment. Let's say I roll double 2, this is already very likely to cost me that section of the match unless my team is significantly better than my opponent's AND then I also have deal with the injury because whichever section of the pitch is currently in play will have at least two players in it. I'm not sure how I would best suggest this be evened out, perhaps swap things over so that if you roll a double and you do have a player in that position, you take a Game Changer card (since these are mostly things that you can play in the following game like VAR or Magic ice spray) and if you roll a double where you don't have a player then your opponent gets to choose a player in the current section that receives the injury (naturally they would always pick the best player so this isn't especially balanced either but would remove the chance of rolling a low number and getting an injury). Another rule amendment I'd make is to do with Training. It's totally unrealistic that a 1 star player can become a 6 star player in the space of one off-season, but I don't think it's necessary to remove the potential for that from the game completely. Instead, I would propose that a manager must declare what level they are attempting to train the player up to. For example, as before, a 1 star player with 6 star potential could become 6 stars straight away with a roll of a 6 but anything above 1 would cause growth (under the current rules) but if you were forced to say 'I will attempt to train this player to 4 star level' then rolling a 4,5, or 6 would result in the player becoming 4 stars and a 1,2 or 3 would result in the training failing, this would encourage managers to look to grow their players with high potential a little slower and add an additional element of risk taking in deciding how far you're going to attempt to push them in one training phase.
@theboardmasters58003 жыл бұрын
There's definitely an issue with injuries as you've said - not only is it double jeopardy within the match but it also discourages play against other people, instead of auto matches, which completely defeats the point. I guess, like in real life, the double jeopardy is kind of the point though. As for training, whilst I definitely agree with you in terms of realism, I don't see it as too much of an issue due to the low odds of it but, thanks to Covid, I still haven't got it to the table yet so I haven't seen it in practice...

another question, why do we sim with the dice, why not make random teams like the super league teams? The game should come with 20 teams or so to randomly put into your league. I think that would be great. thoughts. FYI I just ordered my game so I have never played it, sorry if my thoughts wont work.
@theboardmasters58003 жыл бұрын
I think that would be a great option and something that'd be relatively easy to achieve, especially if they had them in tiers - you wouldn't stand much chance against the Superclubs whilst you're a mid table club for example. Don't know how much time it'd add to the playthrough time though...
@bz28862 жыл бұрын
Players are essentially currency, but you can only sell in off-season. Playing out of position penalty we use double, 1 or 2 star. You have to roll both dice together and at basically the same time as your opponent. Agree about the sim/game changer but hopefully the powerhouse set will fix that issue. We don't use the unhappy players rule for now tbh.
@theboardmasters58002 жыл бұрын
We found, in 2 player at least, the unhappy rule came up so infrequently that it was close to irrelevant sadly - fun when it did pop up though. Really need to get it to the table with the Powerhouse expansion...

Preety late to the all superclub party. I have a proposal for this injury thing. Sim matches are real life teams for example u can select 1 team that is really weak so u can offer the option for rotation to avoid injuries 1 team on similar footing same as most of the player teams in the game or 2 if u are 2 players then 1 very good team that u would probably lose to that will be there and chip points from u and ur friend(s) or maybe offer opportunities for rotating players to not risk an injury against playing a realy weak side or a team w/o a real opportunity to win over. Powerhouses expansion maybe would adress the simulation to a more complex strategy for a more hardcore experience really feeling like a manager/club boss making decisions. Also a real fun opportunity for ur friends to laugh at u for drawing to mexico city or a mad jealousy rush after u high rolled 2 11's to beat madrid or whoever u might have on the strong category.
@theboardmasters58003 жыл бұрын
I'm hoping the Powerhouses expansion will address it in some way because there isn't really an easy alternative. Your suggestion would work but would take a lot of work given that you'd have to house rule that you can get injuries in sim matches, then find a way to judge what games are winnable or not, etc.

I think it would also be fun if you could sell players to other people for the scouting price and if nobody wants that player you could sell him to the bank.
@theboardmasters58003 жыл бұрын
It could work but, in my experience, you only really sell players like that when you're clearing out the 1/2 star players in your squad to make room for better players to boost your squad strength. In that scenario, other players have no interest in the players that are being sold... You could certainly house rule that if you wanted though.

Is there a limit on squad size and if you sell squad players surely your overal team value on the 100 point tracker goes down
