Hi Tomlin, very nice to watch this. I play keyboards for over 30 years, always had harmonicas as well. But never done too much with them. I have an A harmonica and tried what you're teaching, but I get these double tones, like chords.... how do you get a single tone constantly??

Hello tom. A few days ago i bought a hohner marine band harmonica in A, but theres a problem, or at aleast i think it's a problem maybe it is my fault. I can manage to bend all holes in a c harmonica and of course i thought it would be different in an A harmonica because it's lower. And indeed it was, but the hole 3 is giving me a lot of troubles, although i can bend second hole with no problems at all. Also when i draw hole 1 it appears to sound as if a screw was loose or something. What do you think it is ? :/ i dont know if i should call the page where i bought the harmonica. Thanks for all the lessons they are great !

Hi Josias, I can't be sure without playing the harmonica but it sounds like you might be playing too hard on that 1 hole. This is a very common reaction on the lower key harmonicas. Try being a bit more gentle and see if that helps. Is this your first low harmonica? They do react quite a bit differently to the higher keys. Cheers, T

it is indeed a lower key and my first lower key. But i've been getting my diafragm stronger and i'm getting into it, about the 1 hole, i'm 100% sure it's a loose screw, i will check some tutorials on how to fix it, thanks for your help tom, cheers!

@@XxBiCkslowxX some lower key harps the reed will tap on the cover plate inside. Try to not pull so hard on the 1 draw. Try it out and it'll probably disappear.

another great lesson tomlin :) sorry to bother you but ,I think I have an issue lol.. bear with me . I think I am taking in air through my nose too much when trying to get the bends.. Like I am losing air is this an actual issue? is there a trick or do I need to play with a clothes peg on my nose!? it's so frustrating .. thanks in advance . Dave

+David Gitton this is a really common issue David. The clothes peg idea is actually quite a good one and I have been known to get my students to do it!
