I pick with middle finger and thumb..like evh..used to do.. Does it resist to play fast alternate pick.. I have been playing guitar over 4 years now..still can't play solos which are fast like.. @@OzzGuitar I've just learned it. Interesting, I realised he used the 3 note per string shape at the end. I also noticed legato being used for some of the phrases. Will take me a while to get up to speed but looking forward to your next lessons. I agree with Abraham below, some dream theatre solos would be awesome.

Hey Ozz, maybe you see this comment. While playing, I would like to pick each note in the triplet string skipping part, but it is a b****. I realized never to have played at fast bpm with string skipping, so I initiated the endless grind by just practicing it. Nevertheless, would you have any advice to speed up the grinding process for this high bpm string skipping variation? Great Channel and thanks once again, everything on here is much appreciated! Ive been workin on the main riff for two days now and I finally got a few clean runs. I keep screwing up the first ascend (the sixteenth note triplets) but thats just because I was building a really bad habit when I first started practicing

The weird thing is that I was unconsciously pickslanting the main theme not that I understood the term until this video however transitioning from 7-8-10 to 10 -77 -10-77 cleanly I've had to slow down and repeat to get it cleanly. I have started to look at Malmsteen too

My right hand hurts a lot, my forearm doesn't have the endurance to play it. I can play it at about 90-100 bpm but not for long. How do I build my right hand strength? I just feel that just repetitive practice isn't just enough to breaking this ...

You got to relax. I would slow it down around 20 clicks and see if you are more relaxed. If that's not enough keep lowering it. Find where you are relaxed most and slowly try to stay relaxed at fast speeds. Memorize the feeling of relaxation

@@OzzGuitar that's what I thought. I'm having hell with it. I can play to the drum track fine, because it has accents in the same place as the guitar. But the regular 1/4 note click just lines up weird. Probably need to spend more time with the basics first.

one question: at 10:17 is it important to use ur middle finger instead of your ring finger for the "14" in the 17-14-11 part? i feel like i can stretch better between ring and small finger instead of middle and small finger, when i try to position my hand parallel to the fretboard. when i use the middle finger instead, my hand bends to an angle if you know what i mean :D

I think the first note is wrong in the final 16th triplet run you tabbed out. Should start like 16 17 19 instead of 15 17 19 on the B string.

@@_____8106 Practice more and slowly and buy a normal pick. Acoustic is not ideal for this and it's a lot harder to play this on it. Especially the fast runs require extra punch of the string to sound correct. Try something made for acoustic instead of songs made for electric.

Good tutorial, but for me, the song should be called physiological difficulties. Especially at 9:43 ... If I practice that 16 note triplets part for more than 10 seconds, my tendons in my hand explodes.
