SOMETIMES my Twitch chat asks me good questions that trigger mini TEKKEN lessons. Someone asked me how I was able to defeat someone easily that they would normally struggle against. One thing lead to another and next thing you know we're having a discussion + demonstration on when to anticipate or when to react, how to mix people up or what to look for, etc. I hope this helps someone!

i am a top 1% counter strike player in NA and theres a lot to be said about how hard it is to learn tekken. apply your gameplan, react defensively, all while executing offense flawlessly. I mean fuck man it’s a lot of multitasking. Wish i could just fast forward 5 years so that i could auto pilot at a high level, these guys like anakin know the game so well they do the right thing without thinking that hard. The goal is to get there. Full comfort

Dude it takes a few years. This game is mad hard, but so rewarding and satisfying when you get the hang of it. I love the game in all it’s levels. Characters, graphics, different fighting styles, music, using my fightstick, and the seemingly endless complexity of this game.

Great video. I think one of the most challenging parts of decision making is understanding the opponents tools and how that will work with your characters tools in certain situations (plus frames, ranges, etc.). This is a good breakdown!

Small correction anakin: ws4 DSS is +5 on block but if you time DSS f1 (i14) perfectly it will trade with jabs, not really a frame trap. So ws4 DSS actually feels more like +4. The frame data isn't too accurate. So if the DSS f1 trades with a jab, you won't get the heat engage/dash. But trading DSS 2 (another i14 move) with a jab will still net you a combo.

Are some of the most common strings opponents use around 4 hits? Unless poking, i seem to catch players keeping their combos around 3 or 4 unless launched (hit confirmed)

I don't play much Tekken, but from your intro i see the key is knowing good frames OB, because you wont (USUALLY) get CH or at worst will be jabbed out of your safe-ish OB moves. This is comp Tekken

Cool to see you play Law. Been doing that myself trying from Garyu to Fujin and I notice as well that I often use match one to test my toolkit to see how the opponent reacts. Are they ducking the second hit of 34,4 n stuff.

Very easy. Especially because of my region i deal with 120 130 ms and 4 bar connections mainly at its best.. also add script users auto duck auto throw breaks.. lag switchers... pluggers.. unfortunately this game is paradise for mentally ill people and lots of em too 🤣🤣

I only play Quick Match. No Rank whatsoever. I can destroy with my Victor. I can KBD on player one side, some side stepping, good poking game, got the Victor stances for mixups down very good, but I can’t break throws. Refuse to play Rank until I can.

Crazy how hard you guys overrate ranks. With a fresh account and around 50% wr all your opponents are basically Bad players. If you play on a sub Character on bushin with like 240k prowess and Solid wibrate you face so much better Player. Thatswhy pure rank judgement is trully useless. Best example are some nonane streamer with theire low prowess blue rank or tekken King Accounts.. You will see some real botlike players.

Because the game dynamics have changed a lot. Just like Arslan and Knee are also not winning as much as they used to. I think TK7 was more technical. TK8 has a lot of tools to balance matches.

Jack is NOT better in this Game. Jack's style was much more suited to T7 where both Players Sidestepped less. Even if Jack has some more powerful options, he more often has to hold the opponent's powerful Heat retaliation whereas other characters can Sidestep freely. Jack is Bottom 5 easily IMO. Your ability to Step off the Centre Line to reposition, evade, regain tempo, and scrutinise your opponent's Move Selection is SO important in this entry and Jack cannot do that reliably. It is not only Anakin, but Joey Fury and Joe Crush who are struggling with Jack. Other Top Players from the US are not struggling to make it to Top 16s and Top 8s. It's because Jack is not very well suited to the flow of the Game, and unlike Kuma who is far harder to hit with Lows, does not have any compensating elements that make up for such a huge weakness like Poor Lateral Movement.

You're thinking so one-dimensionally. Even if Jack is better. EVERYONE ELSE IS BETTER. Jack is a poke heavy character with a huge hitbox and good backdash but every backdash is nerfed.. Even Jack's. And sidestep buffed isn't really helping him but everyone else.
