The Caro-Kann Defense is a very tough line to play, particulary the caro kann tartakower variation, the caro kann advance variation and the caro kann exchange variation but it's perfect for players who are looking for a challenge. I'll teach you all about the Caro-Kann Defense, including the theory behind it, the opening sequence, and how to play it!
chess openings are an important part of the game of chess,and the caro kann is one of the best chess openings for black and an excellent defense against e4.
It's no surprise that it is the go to weapon for chess grandmasters like Magnus carlsen, hikaru Nakamura, Hans Niemann, both Davids and Alireza Firouzja.

@@freakinnightmare3836 first of all, did you consent to the break up? I think there is legal grounds for a lawsuit there. but more importantly if you two don't agree on the fundamentals such as politics, religion and Smash Bros rankings, is it even worth it? As for the empty life all I can say is welcome to the club.

Dude, I believe there's another type of opponents ( which I struggle the most). They come extremely prepared with a special variation just to crush you because the may have lost too many games against the Caro. They like to play extremely sharp games(panov, tal, fantasy and hillbilly attack deadly variation)
@mortalchess
@mortalchess 11 ай бұрын
lol those are the assassins and God I hate the fantasy, the positions don't feel caro like, its weird. But what can you do man, that just means you've reached a level where the opponents start to step up their game and you should too.

@@mortalchess I know😅, I kinda have mixed feelings about the fantasy(I really like playing it for some odd reason, both white and black), however I often find myself in trouble. Well the whole point of fantasy is getting caro players out of their confort zone, against it I recommend pushing the "e" pawn and turn it into a french(ultra solid) It seems to work for my opponents😂 I usually take the pawn and just go crazy

I really like the Caro especially for beginners and intermediate. So many e4 players depend on tactics and tricks and so when they're faced with having to play more positional chess, they're less strong. No fried livers, no early queen attacks, no good gambits at all.
@mortalchess
@mortalchess 11 ай бұрын

@mortalchess I'm around 1400 rapid and even at my level people play it so poorly. Exchange variations with Nc3 and they always go Bb4 which is rarely good. Very easy to equalize with black at my level
@mortalchess

@@Eggy79 as a caro player, if I see the exchange variation I smile.. it's the classical lines give me a hard time. what do you play against 1d4?
@Eggy79
@Eggy79 11 ай бұрын
@mortalchess i actually many times still play c6. 95% of the time they'll just go e4 and it's a caro again. If they go c4, i just bring it back to some QGD structure. Been exploring NF6 against d4 but haven't done much studying on it
@Eggy79
@Eggy79 11 ай бұрын
@mortalchess and yeah when i see an exchange with bd3, c3 and qc2, I'm like ok..this one knows some things. And i don't mind the classical variations. I usually go for the tartakower. But I'm at a pretty low ELO relatively so it works because no one studies the tartakower and no one plays the fantasy correctly.

You talk so fast and go through the examples so quickly it becomes frustrating for us lesser mortals. It is difficult for someone at an intermediate level to apply these Caro-Kann concepts to a real game. The computer white opponent moves his pieces in slightly different places during game than in your video. You try to apply the content but it is hard to think about what to do. You aren't sure if you should use the advanced variation, the exchange variation or the classical variations because the opponent's pieces weren't moved to fit in either of these. I am just trying to learn to apply these basic Caro-Kann variants. It is almost like someone feels like employing an assegai or an iklwa on the content creator to relieve frustration.
@mortalchess

I'm still a beginner content creator lol, I will find the sweet spot in terms of video pacing soon, but these short, quick, rapid fire videos on coke is the general direction the world is going due to increasingly shorter attention spans. You would be surprised if I told you the reasons viewers click off these videos.. the funniest one is checkmate, simply saying checkmate at any point in the vid 10% of viewers will click off,, its a whole weird world behind the curtains here..As for the assegai, I have mastered the way of the crouching tiger hidden dragon, I would air on the side of caution..
