The tip for changing amps is fantastic. That opens up a load of possibilities. Speaking as a guitarist, I tend not to use this touch instrument. The glissando sounds unnatural to me. It is handy for non-guitarists and for trying out some chord changes when writing. It’s one of the things I love about GarageBand: being able to explore instruments you don’t play. I used keys on my #songtember song, which I probably wouldn’t even have thought of without touch instruments.

Hey, I’m having some trouble. If I have a track, like a staccato strings track, that already has notes, is it possible to move that to a touchscreen guitar?
@PeteJohnsMusic4 жыл бұрын
Hey there. Unfortunately the strings and other instruments are not compatible so you can’t copy and paste between them.

Pete Johns man, that’s unfortunate. It does seem though that an electric guitar like the “wah”whatever it’s called has the normal scale like a normal string track does, so I guess I can still use that. It’ll take a longer time, but it can be done. Thanks!

I think I know what you want. Which track do you wanna copy from?

that two three finger for more strumming options was amazing

It’s a hidden but awesome little jack isn’t it?

@@PeteJohnsMusic indeed! i'm currently recreating an old song and was stuck at guitar parts. using only one strumming pattern got kinda repetitive and boring but using this i was able to put some variety into it and it turned out great

Hi Pete! Do you know Ukulele for GarageBand? Many thanks for all you videos 💚💝👏
@PeteJohnsMusic3 жыл бұрын
Hey there. I’m not sure there’s a good Uke plugin but if you’re looking for one I would ask over at the GarageBand Users Facebook group - studiolivetoday.com/gbu

i hope you answer late replies too but i would like to drop down D on the low E. Is this possible in Garageband?
@PeteJohnsMusic3 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately not. Your best bet is to use the keyboard. kzbin.info/www/bejne/amPHm5qPlpJsf5o

Can you extend the fretboard? Most solos go down to 13.

You can't sorry. It depends on the size of your device.

Hi Pete. Is the 4 options only on the new update? As you know I’m still stuck at 12.4.? Because of the sonic port issue. Also, have you noticed any odd behaviour since updating and, is GarageBand greatly improved over the previous version. So I know if I’m missing anything that would make a reasonable difference? Thanks. Great vid for the beginners and those with some experience🖌

Yep, all of these options are there in 12.4. In fact, this demo is on my iPhone 7 which is still running 12.4. 🙂🤘
