What’s the difference between a bassoon and an oboe? The bassoon burns longer

You said it wrong. It’s why is the bassoon more useful then the oboe. If you’re gonna copy it, do it right

@@RoseCadenza that’s good. I just stared and it’s kinda difficult right now. Any tips I might need?
@RoseCadenza2 жыл бұрын
@@im._anne9526 The only advice I can give is don't get discouraged. Oboe wasn't my first instrument, but I struggled at the start because of the few different fingerings. The reed is the most important thing to keep in mind. It's hard to keep in tune and get a good sound. Clip it down to make it sharper and shave the tip to make it flat. There is a reason why oboe is labeled as one of the hardest instruments to play, and it's because of the reed. I still get discouraged from it, but you have to have determination. That said, if you can afford it, private lessons would also really help. I took private lessons through my college, and they helped a lot. I hope this was helpful for you. And I hope you can power through it. 😄😉

My favorite orchestral instrument. The Oboe D'Amore and Cor Anglais are wonderful, too.

my aunt has been playing the oboe for over 30 years and i've already been playing for almost a month now, but i only had her show me the C scale, etc. as i pick up instruments quite quickly, i mostly self taught from there, only using fingering charts when needed, not really feeling like i needed anything else, which technically i didn't, but after watching this video i feel like i'm going to be able to progress much quicker with all the tips and advice!! thanks so much :)

@mflor45444 жыл бұрын
@@connorfrithsen2213 Well oboe is like if a clarinet and a flute had a baby. It's mostly a clarinet like body but with a flute's fingering. That's the reason I switched personally because I didn't need to relearn most of the notes

A comment for you from another oboist. Beginning oboe students are not going to spend $15 on a gold staple from you know who, who Happens to be the finest oboe repairman that I’ve ever known, and does upkeep on my oboe.. So if you’re talking about a student inserting a reed with a cork into the Oboe, then use a cork staple for your demonstration. I have had to provide students with reeds I’ve made, And one actually did not have the cork greased well enough on the reeds cork when they withdrew the reed by the thread which removed the reed from the staple. So the student must learn how to remove the reed by using the cork, That has been properly greased for the size of the receptacle on a particular oboe which can vary slightly from oboe to oboe.
