Hell ye, that's the way to go! I also started my Journey with the battle academy and things got interesting quickly when I switched up to "meta" decks after figuring out the basics. Hopefully the video was helful to you, although most of the steps here you are also quided through with the Battle Academy itself.

Thank you for the great tutorial, out of the few videos I've seen this one is the best. You have a great mustache 👍.

I haven't played the Pokemon TCG since elementary school which was like 18 years ago. Pocket got me interested now since I also love Pokemon. How does the pokemon tcg do in regards of card prizes and costs for decks though? I played Yugioh a lot and still do so occasionally. It can get quite expensive fast though with top meta decks costing multiple hundred € up to 1k.

Damn that's a long time, I only started playing last year for the first time😅 Actually what I most love about Pokemon, is you can get top tier decks for like 50/70€ (the basic card versions of course) so yeah basically any top tier meta deck currentl (and usually) is less than 100€. Of course you can then pimp out your desired cards and pay more, but it's just cosmetics basically. As in card prizes, do you mean like rewards from events or like prize cards in the round/game itself? Sorry😅 just so that I can explain better hehe

@Vaaraiant It was the classic early 2000s hype :D Thanks for the quick reply! With card prizes I meant the cost for cards/ whole meta decks. Looks like it is a pretty affordable TCG. At least in lower rarities of the same cards. How often does the meta change though? Or is it the norm that a deck will be at least somewhat viable competitively over a long period of time (everything longer than half a year)?

Ahh I see hah, nice to see you come back to it🫡 So yeah in general it is relatively cheap, and also upgrading to like "middle pimped out" version it's not that expensive, depends of course on the cards. Yes some decks stay viable for a while, sometimes adapting to the meta and maybe gaining some new cards to play with in the new sets, so usually each set is eagerly awaited not just from the collecting perspective, as it can sometimes produce new archetypes. For example, Charizard Ex came out with last year's Obsidian Flames set released in August, and is just slowly starting to decline in the meta. Gardevoir Ex is also another great example, it has been running and adapting for over a year now as I can remember. There is a rotation though, that comes each year, making some older cards inviable, unless they had a later reprint etc. So yeah in general, you should be good for at least half a year for probably almost every deck you choose now from the meta (unless there is like s biiig meta shift due to a set release,, but those are really rare)
