Pretty good tutorial. Two bits of misinformation though. The radar pick up you, the tower, ATV and the 4th signal is the cheap crappy camera that is outside of the front door by default that even when off still produce a signal. The radar itself does not produce a signal. Personally I trash the camera but for early game newbies they could use it as a cheap beacon of sort and put it somewhere to get a sense of scale. Also you can now zoom in, out and move around on the rader now making it far more useful as before it would never let you see the edge most parts of the map. The second bit of misinformation is the servers in the base are for processing speed exclusively on leveling up the drives. I believe they don't help with download speed whatsoever. It the servers with each satellite dish (the ones that sd.calall effects) that improves the download speed. Well made video otherwise.

also, by pressing Enter while using the radar you can point your compass to the set location! Really useful, especially when searching for lost gear or hunting radar pings.

@@Neurofen Didn't know that one. Nice. A tip that I like to use though it is more of a cheaty abuse the mechanics type of deal than anything but if you play the game enough you will notice aside from scripted times (generally to force you outside to possibly see an event) there is only a set number of servers that will go down. With the server stability upgrade max out only like 4-ish servers can ever actually be down at any given time, so if you are extremely lazy and have it max out but yet lack a Kerfus it can be useful to simply let the servers in the base die to avoid going out to the dishes. Also a good way to tell on replays in a meta way of what server crash is directly event related. I had play the game so much I can basically tell exactly how it works on a fundamental level. Nowadays on replays I avoid doing the day job and just look for events during the early days. Some events are directly linked to drives but with sandbox mode you can force them through.

6:00 Slight correction🤓: the reason the answer is 3 is not because its getting the mod of -3 (by the divisor 10) - that would be 7 - but rather because its getting the mod of the absolute value of -3, which is 3, as shown by the lines surrounding the equation (|3 - 6|).

1:38 Man, I played the spaceport DLC in Construction Sim and one of the side jobs is building a radio telescope which was tedious enough on its own with drilling out the deep foundations, pouring slab foundations, hauling the special components and hoisting them into place, etc. but I can't begin to imagine having to do that on hilly, forested terrain *24 times*. Now, granted that's probably been done by several teams and not just one person like in Construction Sim but still.

I needed this tutorial because they changed how signals are found on the console. The tutorial does not highlight the yellow indicator because the description hasn't been updated, so I was staring at the console scratching my head for 30 minutes and searching the web for a solution.

thank you! the ingame tutorial doesnt really do a good job of explaining how to do any of the frequency stuff lol, and theres another tutorial on youtube but its outdated by a year and thus uses the old, less intuitive design for all the tech stuff thats harder to understand.

I really like how the game is progressing on it's development and see the Devs making more texture, re-making the old to new ones and all, but I will never gonna understand the Lore perspective from the "hash codes" or why the numbers change every day and why do you have to send them, because if not, don't you send them by email or message on the computer?

You get the email every day at midnight, the notebook only auto templates for you after you get the email.
