Java is now bundled with vassal on the windows and mac o/s. Linux os still needs a java install as well as the jar version of vassal. Java 17 is recommended.

Yep. You pretty much just share the log files in sequence.

Note that modern vassal installs include java so it is not necessary to do that step.

What's the best way to find opponents for live games? Is it more by game than simply "I want to play a game on Vassal"?

Thanks Gary. I enjoyed this video more than 98% of your counter-clipping productions, even with the "dry" vassal teaching environment. I think I now know enough to be frightened if someone creates a vassal module for my next Pacific Naval Operations game design. Nevertheless, I feel Vassal offers a competitive alternative to the $20 battery=powered die roller device I just purchased after watching your recent guest appearance on The Player's Aid. Stay thirsty, my friend.

I play in my 15' laptop and I always feel like buttons are ridiculous big and a waste of space in my screen. Are there any way to reduze buttons size? Just as a reference, how big/wide is your screen? Thanks for the videos.

I want to get less screen time,roll dice,do calculations and move counters .That was the point of my solitare wargame purchase.If I want to sit in front of a screen I have lots of PC wargames.

I've wanted to try Vassal for years, but every time I've tried, the Modules have always been infected (with Malware). I Would be most interested in a source of clean modules especially for old AH/SPI games.

By "infected", do you mean containing malware? Or just generally junky modules (of which there are a fair number.)

@@ardwulfslair Its been awhile since I last tried Vassal, but it was most likely Avast; I only recently migrated to Bit Defender.

This doesn't cover it. The site now has dozens of different files under its download and there is no clear information about which to use to start the process of setting up Vassal.
