Hey! Thank you for making this video. If anyone says “oh this is common sense stuff!” It’s not, especially for a new Mom with postpartum depression or other emotional disturbance that makes it difficult for her to connect with her baby, and has trouble giving and reading emotional cues. Watching an example of an interaction like this with your daughter is so helpful. So thank you.

I have been a pediatric physiotherapist for 25 years. DO NOT lift up the baby from lying down to sitting by holding her hands!! This is a test, " pull to sit" , pediatrician or therapists might do, but if there is a delayed or (risk for) atypical development eg due to prematurity , Trisomy 21... DEFINITELY NOT recommended as play or exercise, especially if baby's arms flex and/or pull back strongly. (Alternative: pick up/ put down over the side to promote head control, core strengthening, rolling, arm support hence pre tripod sitting...)

I have tried and tried tummy time since my son was 3 mo old. He's now 4 mo and is not advanced as he should. Cause he cries so hard every time. I tried the rolling technique on to the tummy like your vid and he loved it! I never seen him so happy to do tummy time as long as he gets to roll over. Haha Thanks so much for posting! you helped out a new mom over here. 😁

i really related to your video, sophia just turned 3 months yesterday. she is my first and last, she is amazing and being a first time mom i wanted to see how other 3 month old babies were coming along compared to my sophia. Riley and sophia have a lot in common with loving to roll, enjoying a lite cloth across her face and kicking when they are happy. i just wanted to say thanks. Riley is a doll!
@DianaMcNeill7 жыл бұрын
+Michele Dean awww you are welcome and THANK YOU for watching and sharing that! I can relate to you wanting to compare - I always did and do the same thing - watching videos of other babies a similar age to my daughter. I also enjoyed looking at videos of babies a month ahead of my daughter to get an idea of what I might be able to expect (plus it gave me ideas on what to focus on with playing and what not for her development). Of course when I say compare I don't mean it in a negative way. I understand all babies are different and do things in their own time, but it's still fun to see how similar aged babies are .

I adopted my daughter from Korea at 3 months of age. She is now a grown woman with two children of her own. When her eldest was this age she started doing this thing you do w a soft light flannel baby blanket and my grandson loved it and it calmed him. We happened to see months later that many Korean mommies do this culturally but we didn't know that. Cool to see some things are universal and maybe all things we can learn from each other
@DianaMcNeill7 жыл бұрын
+Renee Mueller I'm actually half Korean 😬. But that fact has nothing to do with me doing the blanket thing, I don't remember where I learned it from but I know it wasn't from my mom (my Korean 1/2). I do agree the world is becoming increasingly universal, especially with the internet!

The internet will have you over thinking tho. Ppl can be annoying. But there can be bots. But there's reality too. I guess in short, babies all grow at their different rates. And maybe when a baby excels in some areas, the baby won't be so great in others. & other babies in comparison are similiar or vice versa. I was telling her dad earlier I remember immediately being paranoid about tummy time. But low key always thought about how I saw her move her head around since day 1, & was kind of annoyed at how ppl say babies can't do that. I do prop her up on a 4 legged doggy stuffed animal, where her heads up & the rest of her is supported. Sit her up on my tummy while holding her little waist w/ both sides w/ my hands (ow...) & let her "watch tv..." & put her above my shoulders attempting to burp her... but if these r the things that help build muscle, she actually likes those activities. I know this bc thats when she's usually calm. I let her sleep w/ me too. My husband's thinks it's funny bc no matter where I'm at, she always manages to roll over closest to me. Apparently even in her sleep. She's going through a stiffening her legs phase too. See? I figured my silliness would get her somewhere :/. I prop her up on counters (holding her) & let her feel herself on her feet. Acting like she's walking or dancing to music in the mirror. Yes, the mirror & music calms her down somexs too. I just gotta pretend she's active in it. 😊🥰 her little mile stones. Even her typical baby behavior w/ her 2 tiny fists above her head sleeping. Or smiling out of content when she passes gas on me. Or her extraness in pooping ,,, is just so awwww, lol. I love my tiny human. Only, I dont think she likes pascifiers as much. I think she either doesn't want them bc she wants to eat alot. Or is frustrated bc she's not coordinated enough w/ them... she tries to "hold" my hand when I'm holding it in for her instead. W/ her fists. She tries harder w/ bottles tho. But of course w/ her tiny fists. She's only a mth & 2 weeks tho. I've seen other babies be a natural w/ them. But If she doesn't seem all that crazy about them now, "weening won't be hardly a thing.

Hi , what’s the name of the soft book used ? Liked the way it’s horizontal so baby can engage at 3 months without someone to hold it for him

Hi the book is by the brand jelly cat and called pet tails 🤗. They have a whole range of them though like farm tails, jungly tails. Melissa and Doug also do some great soft books for babies!
