We use a darker color ball and I cover my dogs eyes and I throw it in the woods and command him to search. That's our morning play time . I lost my phone this morning. I put a old phone to his nose and he found it. In less than 30 seconds it's amazing watching him work.

Chico is one hell of a dog. One of the more intense, intelligent, handsome & confident dogs ive seen anyone post/work with. Hes gotta get your blood pumping & adrenaline going , he's a dog you can do anything with & train to the extremely high level that we all know you really enjoy.

@@alexand5658 lol you mean doberman ... And sure they make good protection dogs, but def are not the most powerful, capable, dont have anywhere near the hardest bite force & arent nearly the physically biggest, strongest, most powerful etc dog breeds that are used in protection work. But if you like the breed, get a well bred & health checked one, is well trained & raised they are def capable dogs. Cane Corso, Presa Canario, Boerboel, Working line German Shepard, Working Line Rottweilers, Bandogs, Doggo Argentino, Working line Pitbulls are all more powerful, capable, have harder bite force etc. Again Doberman are perfectly fine if you like/want the breed and make great protection and family dogs

Of all the three dogs, I like Gage the most! If Chico had more impulse control, I would like him more. Before I watched this (and other channels) I thought German Shepherd Dogs did not have enough power and mass, but I believe more and more that, for modern life in a city, a working line dog German Shepherd is the best option, provided you have sufficient control over him (and, unless you do not hunt dangerous game or are a shepherd in an area where strong predators would attack your animals, it has a sufficient amount of power).

I have a 7 month Malinois. He will run full tilt & do a sliding stop on the front to get the ball. I need to be careful. He hurt his carpus (wrist) one day. Luckily, he walked it off in 24 hrs. He’s my first and I have been told they often ignore the pain of injuries so I need to be extra careful. Consequently, I really appreciate this video.

That was fun to watch … nice to see the dogs have their puppy like personalities and it’s not all work for them. Even though they were are similar in their play, I could see the subtle differences. Differences that you wouldn’t necessarily see until you pointed it out. Bang looks like a fairly good size female … will she.be a big as the boys, when she’s done growing?

Our male Mal is definitely as possessive as Chico. I have to be very careful how I throw it, bc he has no self-preservation. I can't throw a Frisbee for him, bc he will hurt himself getting it, he likes Mach 10. Teaching him impulse control was very important, and that is what keeps him from hurting himself. He outs like a Champ, he is 3.5, we've worked on this since puppyhood. Our female Mal, plays a lot like Bang, she is about the same age as well. Not nearly the same drive as our male. ❤

I was watching this video with my son and we loved it. He is 8 years old and when the 10th minute arrives from there on, the presenter starts talking about this would be a drug for him. He would kill his mother for this I understand that I wanted to put the dramatization or the correct context of saying that I'm careful how you teach him but there are better words As I say the video super good but remember that they are a channel that children can see and that they deserve respect also in the communication that is transmitted to them I hope that this comment is of self-help more than of criticism THANK YOU VERY GOOD PROGRAM

My dobie/lab is all toy and prey driven (LOVES TUGWAR), she will jump feet off the ground to get a toy, and death lock it in her mouth. She's not too big on food drive. My doberman male is food driven chowhound, sometimes toy drive, sometimes prey drive depending. And the small chi/doxie is all drives lol

Is it possible for a dog to be in between bang and Chico, where they love the chase (playing fetch) and also obsessed with the ball where when you throw it they put 110% into it? I can’t really tell which one my dog is.. more like bang or Chico aha
@fannyw72033 ай бұрын
With a dog like Chico that selfsatisfies so much with the toy, how did you work on getting him to reach it to you all the time? That must have been a work by itself! With that kind of dog I struggle sometimes in how much I should let him enjoy his own way for motivation and how much to "make him" transform his way into the functional side of it...

Brilliant vid, thanks! Our dog has a big prey drive, but only for living things. He doesn't care AT ALL about balls or other moving objects and doesn't like fetch. Only thing he cares about is either food (but also working with a food dummy leads to him fetching it a couple of times and then he gets distracted) or being VERY physical with me, up to a point he unintentionally hurts me. Whenever I play too much with the food dummy to make it more interesting, he'll get physical with me too. So I don't actually play with him at all unfortunately. But I think it's a shame. Does anyone have any idea what I should do?? I'd like so much to be able to get him play...

We just rescued a 1 yr old that plays like the first dog but we dont want him to play this way. He will jump / nip to get you to play as well. He is smart but needs control and not everyone can play with a big dog clinging to them. Need to know how to undo this type of play/behavior. I've rescued dogs and trained them before but I've never seen this weird play behavior and we're about to give up on this one. I've never given up before but this is far too much.
