If anyone wants to play Blue Dragon, you need to edit the xenia-canary.config.toml with these changes: (Thanks to Pixelacos Gameplays) (Proton GE 8-15 was used) gpu="d3d12" d3d12_clear_memory_page_state = true mount_scratch=true mount_cache=true Alternatively, if you don't want to change the config for Blue Dragon specifically, you can add this game (or any emulated game for that matter) as a shortcut to Steam (by editing the properties of a Non Steam Shortcut) , THEN on top of doing that, you can add arguments to the end of the shortcut's "Target" which will temporarily change the xenia config but just for that session. Example: Start In: Path to Xenia Canary Folder Target: "Path to Xenia Canary EXE" "Path to ISO" --fullscreen --gpu="d3d12" --mount_cache=true --mount_scratch=true --d3d12_clear_memory_page_state=true Here is my completed example (specific to my Steam Deck): Start In: /home/deck/Emulator Storage/Xbox 360/Xenia Canary/ Target: "/home/deck/Emulator Storage/Xbox 360/Xenia Canary/xenia_canary.exe" "/home/deck/Emulator Storage/Xbox 360/Games/Blue Dragon Disk 1.iso" --fullscreen --gpu="d3d12" --mount_cache=true --mount_scratch=true --d3d12_clear_memory_page_state=true

It works! I tried Kameo, no bugs, the frame rate is enough stable. ≈30fps I tried also The Elder Scrolls IV Oblivion, and it works too, frame rate very stable =30fps. Couple issue with the cursor, and some images (during loading screen), but that's it for now. Didn't play a lot yet. I will try Banjo & Kazooie, and Viva Piñata soon. ( yes I love Rare 🤫 🥰)

This actually works and I gotta give the author of this video credit for finding this work around. That being said performance with this emulator is still far from smooth. I tested 2 xbox360 games, saints row, and banjo kazooie nuts and bolts. Banjo performed better but alpha layers weren't working in game and it froze several times. I hope they can fix these issues in a update. We could also do with a compatibility list so we know what games work best.

thanks for sharing your expereince here. yeah the main reason is Xenia does not have a native linux version. the one we are using is windows version and we are trying to run windows app from steam proton. if linux Xenia is out we can definitely play most of xbox360 games on Deck.

Everyone that has a problem with it not opening and just having the game close on its own. Go back to the step where you have to edit the words to vulkan make sure it’s lowercase I had mine all caps and it caused it not too work. Once I lowercase it worked.

I did exactly like in video and I get this on Midnight Club L.A. Complete Edition: Cinematic around 15 fps Menu 8-9 fps In races or freeroam more to 7 fps to 10 I tested also in Red dead redemption and it's 30 fps in Cinematic with some drops under 20 and in gameplay it's like from 13 to 16 depending to where you watch. (Atp Red dead 2 from steam work way better) also the minimap show nothing, it's just the background of it, empty

Until the vid comes out here is how to do it I will use banjo kazooie as an example here First the file should a bunch of letters and numbers with no . At the end because thats the format of live arcade games You can simply open it on xenia on desktop mode but ik you probably want it in gaming mode So raname the file but dont change anything just add a .xex at the end and emudeck will recognize it once you save it to steam just remove the .xex from the file again and do the same thing in steam -》Properties->General>Target Go to the very end and remove the .xex and make sure to use proton cause xenia is a windows program

Have followed a few of your emulation tutorials now and all worked great so definitely earned a sub from me, however just followed this one and everything went well as expected, game shows up in library but when I open the game it just goes to a black screen and does nothing, any ideas? game is Call of Duty 4 Modern Warfare.

Thanks for the sub. Did you use the Xenia version I linked under the video description? If yes but the game still won’t start that probably just because the game is not supported by Xenia especially we don’t have native Linux versions on the SD so the compatibility is even worse in this case.

I got to work on the patches. Turn true on the black shading I believe. One of them. The old one had spotted black texture on the body. That seem to work.

maybe your have a corrupted rom. also, not every single game will playable on xenia. only around 20% to 30% are playable

i don't know if it's a game by game basis but both ones i tried kind of worked, fable 2 while being a bit laggy has no floor, and naughty bear loads and you can see some of the ui but the rest of the game is black

Forza Motorsport 2 and forza horizon 2 seem to work until you actually start playing. Horizon is a black screen and FM2 will just straight up crash. Any suggestions?
