I have just recently picked up this game along with this expansion to play with my, now grown up, kids. Thanks for the video. It was well presented and informative. @@tacktful you’re really in for a treat! I love the game! I’ve played it probably around 10 times since I made that previous comment. The game really is a sandbox and there are so many ways to go about winning. Buying and fitting outfits for on your ship is fun, upgrading to the next tier feels awesome. I never played the game without the expansions and can’t imagine doing so now. I ended up getting the missions and powers and sellsword as well and would never play without them. The different exploration in tokens and economy board are essential! The only negative of the game is down time between turns. You can have some turns take ages while others will be very short. I have only played solo, 2 player and 3 player. We actually played 2 players two nights ago and it took about 3 hours to play to 20 points. The minis, the tiles and all the components are top notch and the game looks amazing on the table. I would recommend getting a 3x3 foot playmat to play on. I use one I had from x wing miniatures and it fits the tiles for the game well. Anyways I’m really going on too much. I’ll just say it’s become one of my favorite games of all time. We’ll see how it fares over the next few years but I don’t see this one ever leaving my collection.

Funnily enough I have one of those X wing mats too so I'll dig that out - really glad you're loving it and really appreciate your overwhelmingly positive description - feels like I made exactly the right decision 😀

@@tacktful glad you’re excited! I don’t think I mentioned that the first time we played (at 2 players) it took us 7 hours lol. I had played a couple rules wrong and it really drew out the game! Ice damage can be blocked with shields for the Excavate action? I assume yes as the Enviro-Shield mod says it affects everything that is non-combat damage, however in the expansion rule book it is not stated in parentheses that it can be blocked (like with other actions) so that is why I am asking.

Did you notice the different shade Of black on the tiles from the expansion vs the base game? :). Great video btw :)

Yea, it is noticeable if you are really looking at them closely. The backs are similar enough that it isn't an issue when they are on the stack, just slightly annoying for those of us with OCD when they are part of the completed map.

I hadn't noticed before BUT I'll check it out when I pull the game back out soon. And now that I've received my Missions and Powers Expansion I'll be doing a Gameplay video within a month or so and I'll make it a point to show the differences on camera for people to be able to see. Are you supposed to discard a system with no spawn at the start? I thought it got placed anyway and then a new one was drawn
