Fantastic advice for an amateur like me! As a primary landscape and nature photographer, I always struggle with photographing people. And I'm sure my level of discomfort and uncertainty makes others less relaxed. I look forward to incorporating these tips, especially during the holiday season. Thank you Omar...

Thanks. A couple of your suggestions were similar to Richard Avedon’s (I think) technique of waiting past the expected button push time. It causes the pose to move into something more natural. Not always for the best but worth trying.

I have found it useful at times, especially with a group, to yell out "hey, asshole!" and usually everyone will turn and look and then laugh or smile.

Curious about the ISO on a number of these, shutter speed seemed high for someone not moving much, so wondered about the logic of having say ISO640. Great photos as always, so maybe it doesn’t matter is the answer 😊

Girl against the heart mural wall: why did you choose the 105?
@nipuseless255811 ай бұрын
Hi Omar, I was wondering why sometimes you raise shutter speed that much (1/2500) while it cause ISO to rise ? Is it to give a special look or is it to capture some particular moment when the subject moves ?
@ogonzilla11 ай бұрын
I shoot full manual, so my ISO is set by me. I shoot wide open and make my subjects move a LOT during a shoot, so I like to be safe. With all the cameras I use, ISO 6400 and below have little noise. Hope that helps!
@nipuseless255811 ай бұрын
@@ogonzilla yeah it really help thanks for answering so fast. In my experience 1/250 was fast enough for me but never encountered big movement such as people jumping, etc. Now, I'm gonna be a bit more careful with more shutterspeed when I encountered those.

I have bad memories of trying to remember poses or using the same poses too much, or focusing on posing too much then forgetting about my composition like branches sticking out of heads 😢 any advice?
