Janu Sirsasana - "head to knee pose" - is a wonderful yoga pose, but it's often a little tricky to get into! In this video, we will look at the proper positioning, muscles involved, strategies for propping, common misalignments, and stages for moving into the posture. A great video for teachers and students to get the most out of this wonderful seated posture :)

Awesome! Thanks so much. I generally don't encourage my students to round down as I'm concerned about lower back issues - a lot of my students are older women who may have disc issues. Do you agree with this or is it ok for me to encourage them to round down (eventually, after finding the lift)? Also, never thought about moving the foot inside the same thigh, always thought was more like a tree pose set up. So Thanks!

Hi Karin! Sorry for delay, I missed your comment! I usually encourage neutral spine, then moving into flexion with support of core. It's definitely a spinal flexion pose, ultimately, but anyone with spinal issues should exercise caution and make sure that works :) I did a recent vid on rolling down vs. flat back that you find enjoy :)

I see first time this pose made in this way.in which style is like that.I like this is more.but in each class i had it was differently.like not correct
