Christelle, first off, please don’t apologize for your accent. I’m American and think you speak great English and your accent is beautiful. I want to thank you very much for taking your time to create this video. It has been very useful. Don’t slap my hand but I have been using a tuner app to help with my bends. I recently started using an online piano because I didn’t feel that the tuner app was helping me become precise enough. Thanks to your advice, I have now deleted the tuner app from my phone and will continue to use the piano to help me train my ear. Thanks also for the training exercises. They will definitely be very valuable for me. Peace and harp on!

I agree entirely...This video has brought me down to Earth, even as a beginner . I pick up some songs easy, and then am lost on other 'simple' tunes. This lesson (covering many lessons in one ! ) Nails it ! It's not about 'natural talent' it's about work practise and takin it slow until each passage is good or better -perfect ! Even the non players i.e. Listeners , know when something is not 100% and so I will follow this lesson again and again till I get the satisfaction (just for myself), and maybe one day enjoy more my contribution in a jam...Thank you Christelle- so much ...subscribed !

Christelle, I fail in love with your music, I play a lot of instruments as a hobby, also playing a chromatic harmonica. But after I heard you ( a lot of songs, and repeating several over and over) I immediately went to eBay and bought a Suzuki ( I got the wrong scale ) so I went to a shop and bought a C ( so it be easier to me to learn). Anyhow I search for lesson and I found you again!!! The important message from me(which probably represent thousands of music lovers) I found that beside being an exceptional musician (not harmonica player, you are really the essence of music). You are a wonderful person, it is so "agreable" to listen to you, so nice person, so giving really it gives hope to the world, to have persons that give from themselves the best they can. You are a present to the world as a gentle and generous person and as an exceptional musician. Please continue to give presents to the world you are enriching it in your magnificent way!!!! In comparing the bend on a harmonica, and the single note yodel to denote an emotional inflection as opposed to a just a flat or sharp, as part of a musical composition. In simpler terms, "A cry in your voice", or a wail in a blues riff. A real measure of success is how the listener feels the emotion in the sound, to anguish or glee. You have so much articulation and that you can pull off many a feeling. Keep it up! Keep it up!

Amazing instrument. Maybe some people can do bends on an accordion, but that would be very rare. I didn't realize that diatonic harmonica is such a rich instrument. I thought you have to have the whole set of diatonic harmonica to play in all keys, but it seems not if one is a master like yourself. Anyway, it's amazing what one can do with about what, 20 reeds? Incredible.

....Practically speaking,....It (low note bending), works well when mouthing (almost saying), "YO", and then extending the duration, (or, also, try adding in a slight tremolo effect) as in the word "YOYO", (while inhaling), - which really seems to approximate the necessary mouth (internal) 'shape changes' needed to make a good downward pitch bend. ......Christelle, would you, please, consider making some additional lessons on how to walk up and down through some of the most useful "Blues/pentatonic" scales, modes, etc, and, explain, and demonstrate the key points about playing a harp in the "second position", "third position, etc.Thank you, VERY Much!!! Your playing is ALWAYS very inspiring, and beautiful!!! :D

And I thought that this was a simple instrument to play ... U R Amazing, I have been looking over the internet for an instructor whom I liked and saw a level of professionalism in and you struck me as the one to listen to. I play some guitar not well but OK, problem is portability, and space needed to practice, but the Harp is just so easy to practice on anywhere and GREEN to boot. I have a very small Casio organ runs on batteries and will be following your advice on note precision as my Hochi Cochi sounds terrible as you pointed out SOOOO Well. I am a brand new harp player and really appreciated you demonstration of Harp position in you very fine playing of 'Yesterday' I also appreciated you video on breathing I am an asthmatic and could use any help in that department I can get. Well lots to do, will be watching and listening to U as much as possible Thanks Bob, also very nice Tattoo...

Love the lesson, I know how to bend, was looking for different approaches or techniques to bending and practicing bending just to see if there's a better way than I do my bending and practicing. I do see your point of not using a tuner, but if you don't know where the note is to begin with or know how it sounds in relation to where it is correctly in key and pitch, the tuner can show you that at first. You can see where the correct note corresponds in pitch to where it's correct in key, if that makes sense. Don't use it as a crutch, just a training tool, it works so you know, then you can use your ear. BTW, you're adorable! Thanks!

halloo. I was a beginner harp player from Bandung, Java- Indonesia. PLease tell me why Mrs. Christelle about my problems : Hole 1 = Blow Bend NO, Draw Bend NO, Hole 2 = Blow Bend NO, Draw Bend YES , Hole 3 = Blow Bend NO, Draw Bend NO, HOle 4 = Blow Bend NO, Draw Bend NO, Hole 5 = Blow Bend NO, Draw bend YES, HOle 6,7&8 = Blow Bend YES, Draw Bend NO, Hole 9 = Blow Bend YES, Draw Bend YES (but the level & quality tone is a too poor) HOle 10 + Blow Bend NO, Draw Bend NO. My Questions...... 1.What should I do Mrs. Christelle if I wanna do a bends in all holes? (I've tried but the semitones can't appear) 2.Am I wrong choose the harp type? Howdy Christelle I wanted to ask you a question, so if you can give me some of your time to answer I would appreciate it. I am planning on writing a song, and using the harmonica as a backing instrument on the background for my song. I only know how to play the keyboard, drums, and the turntable. Is there any Synthesizers or VSTs, you feel is very good at capturing the harmonica sound? My second choice is to just buy a low cost harmonica and teach myself and add it to my song. Thanks so much.
