Bought my first accordion yesterday and you're a huge part of that decision after binging your videos for days and wanting one for decades. I have no idea how I'll ever conquer the bass system that feels so alien to me, but can't thank you enough for giving me the confidence to know I eventually can.

Congrats!! And here's a series that covers the left hand system 🙌 accordionlove.com/master-the-left-hand-buttons/

@@moshezuchter Cheers for that! More than anything I have trouble getting the piano notes to sound as loud and clear as the bass - it feels like when I play a melody, it just kinda gets buried and is never as loud or distinct. But, I think it's due to my amateur handling of the bellows and it'll get better as I practice. Thanks again for your awesome channel dude~

@@greatscott175 yup! Volume control - or making the right hand stand out from the left - involves a light oom-pa touch on the left hand, which leaves enough room for the right hand to stand out. Practice your left hand, making such to play it 'staccato' - short notes - and see if that makes a difference.

Remember that trills and ornaments are an *advanced* playing technique. Meaning, you start applying them only when you can play the main melody without mistakes. Full lesson here: accordionlove.com/course/melodies-ornamentation-and-trills/

I love the video, I'm always pulled to playing trills even though I'm still pretty new to the instrument, they're so fun and satisfying to pull off well, they add a lot of flavour to any piece, great lesson as usual :D

They ARE super fun to play 🙌

It’s important not to confuse triplets with trills. All of the examples you demonstrated were utilizing triplets.

Good point! A trill doesn't have to be a triplet

hm don't know if question posted or got deleted, what's the waltz? figured out el choclo

I just had a listen, and that little 'waltz' I play is just made up. It *sounds* like Emmenez Moi by Charles Aznavour but I think my fingers just did a *thing* :)
