By the way, sorry about all the sniffling and coughing in this video; both me and Isaac (the guy recording the video) were sick at the time of recording.

Thanks. With me, on the 10 beads, I instead would say 10 times - a Jesus Prayer like "Lord Jesus Christ, Eternal God, have mercy on us, sinners." And at the end of the 10 beads, the "Glory Be" followed by a "Hail Mary." ... And when I recite the Hail Mary, I add to the part that states, "Holy Mary, Mother of God" the words ... *"and all ye saints in heaven,* ... pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen." Regards 🙏🏽

Having been a Catholic, I like the Rosary but it does date from the 1400s, well after the split between Rome and the Orthodox Church, so the use of the Rosary is largely unknown to most in Eastern Orthodoxy.

I was not technically baptised at the time of recording, but I was attending an OCA church; Glory to God, I have since been baptised, making me a full member thereof. So, yes, I am in the OCA.

Hey bro I'm a Catholic, good to see young people at it. Love my orthodox brothers and sisters, keep reading the bible and looking into church history! -Justifying and from the son- Titus 3:5-6 John 16:5-7 John 20:19-23 Titus 3:3-7

Thank you so much. So after the first 10 decade of Hail Mary , do we continue again for the rest of the beads the Hail Mary prayer?
@zealousidealАй бұрын
I’m ex Orthodox and now Catholic, but The Orthodox don’t call it the Hail Mary though and it’s slightly different prayer but 90% the same. It’s called the Angelic Salutation. Purgatory is true and it’s in the Bible and we must believe it. Orthodox believe in it too (or a similar version) they just don’t call it purgatory.

If you don't want to use imagination you can just say "to who you gave birth" or "who was crusified for us" or "who resurrected from the dead" after words Jesus- and before -Saint Mary :)

Im glad you are not too judgmental to rosary like many orthodox are Saint Seraphim used to pray one form of rosary and he called it "necessary for salvation" if im not completely wrong 😅 Today we Catholics pray different form of it that came from St Dominic and Mary's intercessions in Fatima and Lourdes

Saint Seraphim did not say that. It is a fake quote. You cannot find that quote in ANY of his writings or spoken words.

Greek Orthodox here. We have komboskini and Jesus prayer. Seems like you haven't seem to truly converted.
@proxile_Ай бұрын
thinking a catholic devotional item from a prelest saint is orthodox isn't really what we should be doing, Saint Seraphim of Sarov did not say the "Rosary" was important, the prayers are pre schism and his prayer rule can be seen as similar as what the rosary has but it's definitely not what was formed after the schism which connects certain devotions and imaginary prayer towards them, so yeah just use an orthodox prayer rope of any kind and not a catholic made one

Both the rosary beads and cross are Pagan in origin. I'm so grateful I'm not gullible enough to be a Christian...
@brandonedwards1181Ай бұрын
The beads were first used in prayer by monks to count their prayers. The cross is literally the thing Jesus died on, could have been a pagan symbol possibly, but if you don't understand why our religious symbol is just that then it proves scripture right that you have a slow, sad, depraved mind. I pray your prideful heart softens over time before its too late for you, I'm so grateful the Lord came to me when he did, and I pray he does with all those that hear the knocking to walk the way of wisdom.
