How to Prep and Wash Fresh Raspberries

Want to make sure your raspberries last longer than just a few days before getting moldy? In this video, I show you The Cross Legacy way of how to prep and wash fresh raspberries. They are very delicate berries and require a little extra care. When they are bone dry, place them in a glass container with a paper towel and store them in the fridge.

This will be so helpful, as I am so tired of throwing out $9 worth of organic raspberries a day after buying!! I do the same with each raspberry, peeking inside...but I'm usually checking for mold stuff already growing inside! Thanks much.

As someone with autism, I just bought raspberries for the first time (trying to introduce myself to new foods) and the fact they were hairy freaked me out so much!! Basic washing at the tap was not enough I needed to know how to deep clean! Thank you for this vid 😂

I grow raspberries. I have too many. We cannot eat them all. I make fruit roll ups, make jam, and freeze them. I am still picking them in October. I just picked 11 cups, but we will be getting a frost soon so I will try this method. I do have a large area and I give them away. They aren’t hard to grow

I'm planning on eating raspberries for the first time just checking how I should wash them because I know they are more fragile than blueberries and strawberries definitely will be freezing them once there dry

After washing trim the ends and put it in a cup with filtered water like flowers and keep in your fridge

Yes but they won't last as long as glass. By washing them this way you will be killing off the harmful pathogens that make them spoil quicker

No not if you measure and only do the ratio I suggest and also use a timer

You can but I normally store them separately. They last about the same length of time. I would never store raspberries and like blueberries together as the blueberries would last a month longer.

I wouldn't worry too much about bugs inside the raspberries. If they perish in the vinegar bath, think of it as extra protein. If they didn't perish in the vinegar bath, I'm sure they will crawl out when they are on the counter drying! 🙂
