I have been bloodworming the last couple of year and found that July is the best month for them. The first time we prepared them we did the freezer part, then soaked them in metho after they had thawed and dried off, the metho immediatly brought out their blood, after cleaning all that up we salted them, not sure how much to use, gave them a pretty good covering and they continued to bleed, bagged them up same as you, then back into the bait freezer, when we went to use them they were all mushy and just about useless, where as last year we didnt do the metho part and only salted them, I think we used too much salt, anyway they were bagged up and put in the freezer for use this year, after they thaw out on a fishing trip, found them hard to put on the hook as they were still too soft and mushy, consequently never caught a fish with them the last couple of trips, actually on my last trips to Pt Hughes and Pt Vic I only got 1 KG in 5 days, just couldnt find them. Good luck with your batch and I hope you do better than we did.
