If you have a reef anchor, just pull up rope as far as ya can. tie off rope and motor forward till the prongs straighten out and the anchor lets go. Only tie off rope on front of your boat, never on the back.

Thanks for the kind words!! This has taken a while to crack the whiting code. I’ve had plenty of trips where I came home with no fish. The key factors are good tides, plenty of burley and good bait. If you have a sounder, scan the bottom for broken weed/sand with some rocky/reefy outcrops. Combine the lot and you’ll start finding the fish.

Hey Harper, The boat ramps this way are great, the north haven one is easy to use and has wash down facilities!! In regard to the fishing, if your after squid head towards semaphore and find big weedy beds they are all through there. If your chasing tingas head out to about 6-8m, if you have a good sounder, sound around for broken bottom burley up and they will come. Bring a few crab pots the blue swimmers are starting to run too👌

Back in the day I remember it being 30 per person and size was 28cm, shit showing my age there aren't , am one of the lucky ones to never had experience sea sickness from a boat, from a bottle maybe but never a boat lol. Are you using a sand anchor or a reef anchor? My grandfather always tied the main line to the head of the anchor and ran it next to the top steel ring and just tied some 100lb line to hold it and if you get snagged it will break the line releasing the tope to pull from the head end end, no more lost anchors

I had that and usually it works first time releasing the anchor and pulling it back from the top! I reckon the chain wrapped around something as there was no movement at all. These are the risks when fishing in average conditions.

Hey mate, just found your channel as I'm rebuilding an old Easytow trailer. I think the main difference between your old Dunbier and the Easytow are the keel rollers. They don't allow you to get enough weight on the guide rollers and if the boat is slightly off centre, one side will rattle. With full rollers the boat will settle into place naturally and the rollers take all of the weight. Funny you mention it as I'm putting in bunks for this very reason! You might find the keel rollers have a steel sleeve, this also adds to the noise if they are loose!
@non-stopfishing7426
@non-stopfishing7426 19 күн бұрын
Hey mate, thanks for the info about the keel rollers. Defiantly wish I went the skids on each side, but you learn from your mistakes haha. Apart from the rattle, I love the trailer and how it performs. They definitely make the overall boat package look amazing and maybe later down the track I'll change out the rollers.

@@non-stopfishing7426 Thanks mate, I haven't had much luck on the whiting off Nth Haven but still learning the area. Yeah not cheap anchor but excellent, and comparable with Sarca's etc. I had mine snagged a couple of times and tightened up on it and a quit squirt trips it and up it comes. The only way I think you could possibly lose one is maybe in the centre of a tyre stack on one of the tyre reefs but even then I reckon you would get it pulling straight up and down.

Mmmm No, physics dictate that the additional blade will increase drag. My airplane was available with two propellars certified for the Lycoming IO360B1B. engine. 3 Blade, increased acceleration and max climb rate. However, the penalty being a slight increase in fule flow and a reduction in speed. All due to additional drag. I opted for the two blade. Both propellars were constant speed type. Racing hulls often use semisurfacing single blad props. Terrible for getting the boat up on plane, but once there and running at max RPM, nothing will catch them. The sales folk can say what they like, .... Pure Physics does not lie. Drag related to surface is in the same area as Add more weight to the boat, .... it will be heavier. I like your mesh on the trailer, I have a Stacer 449 TopEnder, and getting the boat hooked up and onto the rollers in a chrosswind is no fun at all!

I have been bloodworming the last couple of year and found that July is the best month for them. The first time we prepared them we did the freezer part, then soaked them in metho after they had thawed and dried off, the metho immediatly brought out their blood, after cleaning all that up we salted them, not sure how much to use, gave them a pretty good covering and they continued to bleed, bagged them up same as you, then back into the bait freezer, when we went to use them they were all mushy and just about useless, where as last year we didnt do the metho part and only salted them, I think we used too much salt, anyway they were bagged up and put in the freezer for use this year, after they thaw out on a fishing trip, found them hard to put on the hook as they were still too soft and mushy, consequently never caught a fish with them the last couple of trips, actually on my last trips to Pt Hughes and Pt Vic I only got 1 KG in 5 days, just couldnt find them. Good luck with your batch and I hope you do better than we did.
