3:50 there’s a setting where it change the image backwards in case you’re protecting from the back. If you put the projector behind the cloth you would be able to what you’re doing without having your hand on the way.

I cut the boards for my frame tonight using Tim’s frame kit as a reference. I’ve never used a power saw before, so it ain’t pretty!😂😂😂 I can’t wait to get it put together tomorrow. I’ve been practicing tufting with the fabric stretched tight on a giant embroidery hoop, but it’s not easy to keep the hoop stabilized with clamps since it’s round. Thanks for your guidance and tips. ✌🏼💜🛼

I often sketch ideas out on paper, then use Adobe Illustrator as my design tool. Then I project my final design onto the canvas using a cheap projector that has my Apple TV connected to it-so I can project my computer screen onto the canvas and trace it on

Is it possible that my cloth is stretched too tightly and is the reason for it ripping when I'm tufting? I purchased the kit from Tufting Guns, so I'm assuming it's not an issue with the quality of the cloth. Your help would be so appreciated!
@manlymcstud8588
@manlymcstud8588 4 жыл бұрын
i've never done this stuff, but by virtue of observation i would guess that's the culprit especially considering the rather delicate-ish nature of the cloth. obviously don't stretch it as tight and see what happens. there are tension gauges you can get to make sure you're being consistent.

it's not monk cloth as she mentioned in another video, nor is it canvas which she means here not as actual canvas, rather like a sculptor might refer to a block of clay as a canvas. it's tufting cloth.

@WesNavy 4 жыл бұрын
Ali express scamming is pretty common so buy at your risk
@manlymcstud8588
@manlymcstud8588 4 жыл бұрын
you get what you pay for. as far as i'm concerned, aliexpress is the harbor freight of online stuff. based on experience, my philosophy has always been buy at least the mid-range stuff from reputable vendors who actually make commercial grade equipment. in the end it's always worth the investment, and at least you retain *some* resale value when you upgrade. that piece of junk you saved fifty bucks on is worthless when it breaks in a month or doesn't work properly right out of the box. it's not a strange question. when i had a business, there were times when i had to go cheap because the good stuff was out of my price range. so, i took my chances and hoped i got more than my money's worth, knowing it was a gamble. it was a gamble i usually lost.
