lol...just loc it, Beautiful! Once it gets to shoulder length and you loc, it may shrink anyways if you have a tighter curl pattern. Just something to consider, love.

Please tell me how often you shampoo and why?

I shampoo my hair weekly but if I'm too busy or lazy, every two weeks. After a week, my hair starts to itch and build up of dead skin cells that usually clog the hair follicles. So shampooing it weekly rids the itch and removes the dead skin cells. If I go two weeks before shampooing my hair, then I make sure to oil often with my hair oil and it reduces the itching and cleanses my clogged follicles. Hope that helps.

So I am starting my loc journey October 17 for micro locs. The lady doing my hair said it’s safe to color two weeks before installing. I have to bleach my hair for the color. My appointment is sept 30. Is that safe to do for the process

It's safe to color before the install. Just make sure the person doing it doesn't fry your hair because it will break off. Make sure you keep it moisturized as much as possible. Use water-base or Aloe vera juice base leave in conditioners to help

So sorry to hear that. You just need 1.5 inches but some locticians require a longer length to start

I wish I saw this before I loced I needed a big trim (or hair cut) and my hair evened out. I thought locs would somehow fix all my problems ( ah no!). At my 1 year mark I gave myself a haircut and evened it out. It looks 10x’s healthier and thicker. Styles look better it falls better and I don’t have to tuck my straggly ends every day lol. If I started with healthier hair I could’ve enjoyed the journey more and didn’t have to hide my hair. 😢 after my cut I look at my journey so different now my hair is healthier then it’s ever been and I can cherish it and maintain it.
