For many preachers and teachers, following a 3 point sermon is helpful because it is a thoughtful way of organizing thoughts, reinforcing the main topic, and creating logical transitions throughout the message.
Messages that are disjointed and difficult to follow are also hard to understand. People can more easily engage with messages that transition seamlessly and follow a logical sequence.

Where I live, most churches are watered down to the point of having little value, so am holding my own service in a tiny local church with friends today. God willing, we'll succeed in delivering god's word. People are crying out for comfort, hope, and relief from the nonsense we're all bombarded with. Life today is intolerable for most, so we're intending to address that, and give people trust in faith.

Any one sermon doesn't take just a few hours but one's entire lifetime. That sermon will have an output of all God has revealed to that preacher over his lifetime. Preachers who abide in Christ and never stop growing are positioning themselves to experience the power of God in their preaching.

@@evandoylethinksbecause pastors are performers on stage for our viewing pleasure… I love your video and agree with it, as a Saturday night conference speaker… but we have no idea what church is or the role we play anymore… we just adopted the catholic traditions and said get on with it… entertain me! And it’s all coming to an end very soon. Because the church (buildings) is dead.

@@BIG_Z_69 I do agree the dynamics within church gatherings are shifting... particularly emphasizing gathering around tables more than pulpits... however, I do still believe in the value of large and small gatherings and the necessity of both - I think we need to think of their purposes differently though... I share some of those here: www.dailychristianhelp.com/hybrid-church/ still loosely formalizing thoughts around this... And, I do still see the value in helping new communicators understand how to formulate a compelling message, even if the 1 hour long service, 20 minutes of worship, 30 minutes of preaching model may be shifting.
