And yet another good idea that you said, putting a clutch cable parallel with your other one. Cause, sometimes changing a clutch cables is not as easy as you think.

I learned a lesson years ago on a ride to California from Pennsylvania, having to find a shop to replace the chain on my Ducati. Now when my wife and I head out for a big ride ,I ALWAYS START WITH A NEW CHAIN AND SPROCKET!! even if the old one is fine ,I just put it up for reuse when the new one gives up !!!! Best wishes for your travels my friend!!!😀😀😀🏍🏍🏍🍺🍺🍺

Excellent again. Thank you Pavlin. I use graphite powder on my locks and also on my clutch cable - taking a long time to move the cable in and out to get the graphite along as much of its length as I can. Very helpful video!

Hi Pavlin, 100% right! Maybe adding some spare parts like oil filters, brake pads, chain in the panniers if the trip is long. Spare parts in the wilderness are maybe a must? 😁 Great content as usual!

Good advices my friend, I have just one more if I may.. BEFORE you wash your bike check for possible leaks while the bike is covered in dust - engine, forks and so on.. once you wash the traces it it is too late to search for something .. Great video.. thank you ;)

Great video as always but I am am relatively experienced 25000 miles around the world i regret that I would not be confident doing the checks you suggest I genuinely wish I could and totally agree that with probably minimal coaching they are probably easy to do . I do as you suggest thought always take it in for a service whether it need one or not before going on a long trip ... looking forward to parts two and three ... love the spare clutch cable already fitted pure genius

Great video as always. But I have to be honest, most of the things you explained (also the basics) are far beyond the general knowledge or confidence of most of the riders. I'm one of those, I'm terrible changing the wheel of simple bicycle, how can I do all this stuff with a motorbike? Even removing a wheel is an impossible challenge for someone with zero experience in this sort of things, then how to properly mount it? At which torque then? Or think about disassembly the petrol tank, I can try but then I'm really worried to not be able to mount it again in the right way. For those who are like me I recommend to follow the maintenance schedule, check oil, lubrication, and coolant levels, tires usage and pressure and brake pads level, and sign some sort of insurance that will provide free transportation of your bike to the nearest yamaha shop to get your bike fixed.

Many mechanics will show you how, if you pay for their time. Some will let you do the work in their shop, while they work on something else. If you have a question or get stuck, they'll be there to help.

14:00 I'm a little sceptical about WD-40 on ignition or other stuff that may contain plastics. Wd-40 is not very friendly with plastics, also may attract and retain dust, which will be abrasive. But I still use it on may ski rack lock (on the car), and my bike's topbox 🤷 when they get stuck. Also tried some silicone spray, and it works well. The ideea is that it should be clean, which it is only when the bike is brand new 😋, so with use ... some sort of metal and plastic friendly lubrication will be needed. I do not know what the Tenere's lock contains, but many locking mechanisms contains plastic parts too. And it may be useful to put a cloth around it when spraying. Nice "checklist" review! 😉👍

WD is fine, it won't harm the plastics, but silicone spray will be even better. Thanks for adding!
