I'm about to start my Physio MSc in January, but I still haven't fully decided exactly what discipline I'm going to head into, stuck between sports and pediatric. At what sort of stage did you come to the decision of your final specialization?
@JamesArmstrongPhysio2 жыл бұрын
I still haven’t. I’m 18 months qualified and don’t know for sure. At one point it worried me that I didn’t have a clear path but now Im enjoying doing my rotations and gaining tonnes of experience that will all be integral by the time I find my specialism.

@@JamesArmstrongPhysio Would you say that most of the modules (cardio, neuro...) are about just to learn muscles, joints? But no related to any calculations?
@JamesArmstrongPhysio2 жыл бұрын
@@mariangelbriceno4944 there more to it than learning muscles and joints as you get to learn pathology and how the body works plus how to treat people. There really is no maths 😊 You’ll be absolutely fine. It’s a great degree!

I was a little worried about this too as there was a big emphasis on maths GCSE needed to get into uni. As a mature student, much of the maths I did at school is getting on for 20 years ago 😂

I'm from London and was thinking of going next year and applying for kings, Brunel or East London can I ask any good uni's that you would suggest for Physio in London or in the south like Brighton or Southampton?
@JamesArmstrongPhysio3 жыл бұрын
The ones you’ve mention are great. St Mary’s is another good one. Key is to look at what then do who they have as lecturers and does that tie in with your interests. Also and very importantly where in London do you want to study. At the end of the day you’ll come out with the same degree. Also make sure you go on open days to see them all and find the one you like the feel of the most.

@@JamesArmstrongPhysio In London anywhere near the center would be cool also a campus like Brunel is nice even though it's further out. I would like to work in sport physio and was thinking of doing a masters afterwards. I'd like to work with injuries involved in sport and doing physical activities and trying to help people recover from them. Not sure which Uni would offer me the best bsc for this as I don't know much about the lecturers are their careers in physiotherapy. if you have any suggestions that would be great!
