The way I need this right now! I have orientation for new teaching associates at the end of the month, and I’m feeling overwhelmed and nervous. I teach college writing and start my own grad classes early September. I’m a ball of nerves! Best wishes! I don't that different programs have different requirements for PhD candidacy. In math, we didn't have comprehensive exams. We had what are called Qualifying Exams and from my understanding, they are structured differently than comps.
